I think that niche has actually grown into a majority over the last few years. Think of how well all the sports games, cod, halo, gears, etc are selling compared to everything else.
This only holds water when to assume that everybody who enjoys sports games, Call of Duty, Halo and Gears of War are "dude-bro's". This isn't a wise thing to assume, for us or for the companies that sell the games.

As a side note, the term "dude-bro" has become a cartoon. An exaggerated parody of a demographic, rather than a demographic in itself. The term is nebulously overused without forethought, and it's getting really obnoxious.
I am actually not saying that at all. I didnt mean the dude-bros specifically I just meant that the type of people who play those games rather then the type who visit sites like the escapist are the majority and it was right for Microsoft to target them.

Also dont diss the dude-bro parody because both me and several of my dude-bro friends still find them rather funny.

Do right, you say? Hmm....

...Well, with the Xbone, it's now even easier to avoid EA games!

(Seriously, I doubt their exclusivity deal isn't going to last long at all)

Well, I was actually impressed by the design of the console. Not the look, but how it was made. They supposedly designed it with as much air flow as possible so it would run extremely quiet. As many are quick to point out, the look doesn't matter so much because we won't really be looking at it. But we will have to listen to it and the 360 and the ps3 are pretty loud

Other than that, not much I can think of

Gave this some (mostly) rational thought and came up with the following

They had a well thought out presentation for what they wished to show, and for what they wish to do with the console they seem to be on the right track

this however isn't what most gamers wanted from the console but I will say after watching the presentation a few times and reading articles, they are doing everything right for their aims for the Xbox One, just doesn't seem to be what the gaming audience expected

Can we please wait until the damn thing is out to start these particular threads? I have no idea, because I haven't used it. The Kinect might be really accurate and make using its auxillary TV functions worthwhile (for those in the US). Or it might be a load of crap and misdiagnose half your actions. It cools your water, I suppose.

A tired Wild Icelandic Zigzagoon appeared!

It gave me a good laugh from all the silly stuff that happened in the conference...that was it.

A tired Wild Icelandic Zigzagoon ran away!

As an 80's child I find the fact that it looks like a VCR quite endearing.

They also managed to find some people with ovaries to speak in the presentation.

I like the look of the controller and the fact that the buttons have been tweaked to be less clunky.

That's all I can muster really. COD and 4 sports games isn't exactly exciting. That's what's important to me, games. I could be playing it on a dick shaped lime green console as long as the damn thing works.

Well, apparently, it's able to play games.
But from what can be obtained from that reveal, it's mostly for television.
And sports. Definitely good news for certain demographics.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, hah, Xbone doing something right, oh man this thread... XD Oh, my sides!

OT: Nothing, nothing nothing and more nothing. I like the controller. That's literally all that got me going "Ooooohhhh~" over the reveal. That's really... really weak. And this is only due to me preferring the 360 controller over any other.

Let's just pray E3 can salvage this thing, cause as it seems right now, it certainly doesn't look like anything gamers really want, save for the odd niche audience who want a glorified TV box.

The controller looks great. The controller is literally the reason I bought a 360, but the PS4's looks like it might be good enough this time around.

It's building on the foundation of the 360 rather than taking an entirely new and untested direction.

Xbox players already know it's going to play games with better graphics. MS focused on the non-gaming part of the system which is really where we'll learn new things about what the system can do. This allowed MS to reveal the console while not spoiling the juicy gaming details for the true E3 reveal.

They gave us a new definition for the term "Fall from grace".

Seriously though, this year's E3 is going ot be HILARIOUS. I just wanna watch how they even ATTEMPT to salvage it.

Nothing. The Xbone did nothing right.
Not a single aspect of anything that was shown appeals to me. Quite the opposite: every single thing that was shown pushed myself and my wife further and further away. Judging from the internet's hate-fueled response, I suspect this was true for virtually the entire viewing audience.

I would say the most interesting part was the COD dog. Really, that's all. Not sure if it's been done in the other games, but all I've seen is dogs as enemy AI. I wonder how the dogs as friendly NPCs will work (maybe even as plot points instead of just as another "wartime toy" like a snowmobile or glider). Dogs have been used in many war games just chomping on throats as opposed to other jobs like as a messenger, tracker, bomb detector, etc (or hell, maybe even companions). Hmm, maybe even controlling dogs? That would be neat.

I guess I might be optimistic though.

Though I do wonder how they got the mo-cap equipment on. Most dogs would've eaten them or been too bugged at them to work. Not to mention a lot of police and war dogs don't like strangers in their private space (especially the face).

EDIT: I just noticed I posted that and I have a German Shepherd as my avatar. I guess I'm just predictable.

This blows away anything and everything Sony or Nintendo offered.

So far I haven't heard of anything that could make me want to buy it. Maybe they will get something right as the next announcements come, but I doubt it.
