Um, the Halo TV show...? Which Spielberg is... only producing...?

[sub]Still might be good...[/sub]

[sub][sub]Won't get nearly the audience it would have if it was offered any other way...[/sub][/sub]

They built it on x86 architecture. That's the only thing they did right.

As for the OP's assertions: their new CPU is running at an insanely low clock speed, (8 x 2.0GHz compared to the 360's 3 x 3.2GHz) so they did that wrong... and their 500GB hard drive is far too small for a modern system that installs entire games to itself.

This is kind of a bad thing i'm choosing to disguise as a good thing, it is the embodiment of almost everything we hate about where video games seem to be going, so hopefully other companies know what to avoid in the future as long as people don't buy into this mess.
Cheater.

Come on try for something sencere. The larger hard drive, the controller, the specs, the mo-cap dog... something.

The closest I've heard of this sort of thing was a dancing rhythm game: it took pictures of the gamer who was overly warm and disrobed and sent them to a central storage facility. Knowing this thing is voice activated? The potential for mischief is pretty scary.
I want to be the first one to pull the "XBox, photobomb!" prank.

Also really funny is the fact that the demo of One activated the Kinects of installed users. So the trolling that could come just from adding "Xbox off!" to the mix is just...Out of this world.

In fact, that might be the greatest thing about the One. Reaction videos.

It's building on the foundation of the 360 rather than taking an entirely new and untested direction.

Xbox players already know it's going to play games with better graphics. MS focused on the non-gaming part of the system which is really where we'll learn new things about what the system can do. This allowed MS to reveal the console while not spoiling the juicy gaming details for the true E3 reveal.
I'm going to go with this.

I've never doubted a new system on its ability to play games. Also, I've never experienced a gaming generation where a platform had no games I was interested in.

The extras are always what gets me to buy a system. Yes, PS4 conference was more about games, but that isn't was is going to get me to buy the system. They did show the PS4 controller, but it looks like they are sticking with the old design with a few tweaks, which puts me off because past experiences with Sony styled controllers were bad, they just weren't made to fit my hands, play style, and they were way too light.

Sony didn't show their system and what else it would do. I'm one of the people that likes that gaming systems are doing more things.

I think Sony made a mistake by showing a great deal on games too early. The only mystery Sony has left is the system look, specs aren't going to be much of a surprise because those have already been leaked. Also, since Sony has been making a heavy focus on games, I think there extra bits/apps will suffer.

Microsoft did right because they did a little of everything:

They did a proper system reveal, showed me that they didn't change the controller too much(which is good because the 360 controller was pretty much perfect).
They showed me that the Kinect will be included and that it is a vast improvement over the old one.
They revealed the specs and that they will have a mega powerhouse of dedicated servers.
It will bring ease of use to the next level showing that I don't have to mess around with my TV remote to switch to television or watch movies.
I can do multiple things at once like surfing the net while playing a game, which means if I want to look something up about the game I'm playing, I won't have to switch over to using my PC while playing said game.
The Halo TV series interests me, because I like the Halo games, and will make my experience of the world much larger.
They did show some games, gameplay doesn't matter right yet. I know they are saving the big game reveal stuff for E3, which is a sound move. It really does give them the upper hand. Plus, they made it known that within a year, there will be a substantial library of games for the system. I for one can't wait to see the seven new IP titles that Microsoft Studios has in the works.

The only thing that has shed any sliver of light on this whole fiasco is that Forza Motorsport 5 is a launch title.

But then again, Gran Turismo 6 is coming out around the same time....

Bit surprised this hasn't come up yet, but 8 new IPs in the first year exclusives. New IPs are often the system selling games for me, so it's nice to see one of the companies actually care about giving their system some new, defining, only-get-it-here content...
When Microsoft revealed the Kinect, it had promised dozens of new "exclusives" for that E3. No one knew that they were Kinect only until the day. Every single one of them bombed, saved for Ubisoft's Dance series - which, I think we can agree, is not going to grab early adopters.

Microsoft have tipped their hand; they're not interested in "Core" gamers. They think "Core" are satisfied with Call of Duty and Madden. That's what they honestly think the "Core" is interested in. And, they already gave us that at the reveal. Why would those 8 new IPs possibly be something we should care about, when Microsoft themselves don't care about the "Core" gamer?

So my thoughts... The 500g hard drive and, um... possibly the "more powerful" processor.
No. 500Gb is not enough for next gen games. But at least it supports external hard drives. As for the hardware, they didn't really do a very good job compared to Sony's PS4. If their idea is to rely on cloud based processing I hope they crash and burn.

The controller looks OK, I guess. That's about it.

Well in terms of marketing - the xbone reveal received 4 times the buzz of the PS4 reveal (Ostensibly 40% positive, 40% neutral, 20% negative). (http://www.kotaku.com.au/2013/05/the-xbox-one-uncertainty-principle/)
Any publicity is good publicity especially given that the most controversial features (always online, used games, etc.) are also the ones we know least about.

8 new IPs is pretty darn cool.

Increasing the utility of the console is always good too.

Games that react to bio-feedback (since the kinect can measure that shit) would be a whole new level of immersive. If there's a heap of interesting titles that make use of that, it would be pretty hard to resist.

The controller looks great. The controller is literally the reason I bought a 360, but the PS4's looks like it might be good enough this time around.
Yes, this. They definitely have the best controller out there right now.

Also, having no fewer than fifteen new games coming out in the year after release and eight entirely new IPs is something I support, as long as they aren't just Kinect games and are actually interesting titles offering something new and different, but we'll have to wait until E3 to really know how their games are shaping up and whether they're going to be any good.

Oh! Oh! I got another one!

You will never have to get up and switch disks. That's actually a real feature that I could see enjoying. My PC has completely spoiled me with that. It seems like such a trivial matter, but sometimes my desire to play a different game than the one in the system is overpowered by my desire to not get up to change it. It's particularly a problem when I don't feel like playing the game in the drive, and then just don't feel like gaming at all.

Really, that's a rather exaggerated scenario, but the difference is quite a big deal when I have the option on one system, and then it's removed from me on another.

Well, they managed to continue Microsoft's tradition of copying everyone else's work to produce their own knock-off device. This has been going on for years, of coursee. You may as well call this thing the Xune!
