What did you do to get the friends you now have?

Ahhh,my second thread,sooo...I just lost my old BF from 4th grade,I'm not sad,I got bored with him,he started being annoying and incredibly un-cool.My new friends are cool,and all of them defend me when I get bullied Yeah,they are really cool..P.S. sorry for the old thread,it was a big mess and this is my second chance,P.P.S. I'm sorry if someone posted something like this before! Piece off!

Everyone starts somewhere dude. First posts in a thread are vital for it's continuity. Structure it, using good grammar and make sure you separate your overall question from your own answer/opinion. The title is fine.

I've known my best friend since we were in grade school, but things changed in middle school. He became an asshole, I gave him a black eye for it, and things more or less leveled out. We lost touch after middle school, but another friend of mine 'introduced' us at his apartment a few years back. I apologized for hitting him, he apologized for being a dick, and we've been essentially inseparable ever since. My other friends, I've met through either D&D at a now non-existent game shop or Japanese class at the community college.

na, this seems like a legit question, just poorly worded. When i read it i thought you were either A: asking for advice on how you could make more friends or B: Curious as to how other people make them w/o asking for advice yourself.


Making friends tends to come easy for me because i (try to) approach everyone i meet with good will and intentions. If your nice to people and you don't put your foot in your mouth too much they will like you, or at least tolerate you.

I've found that humor, an act of kindness, or simply sharing food/toys/goodies, with someone is a good catalyst to friendship.

OT: Temporarily inhabiting the space around them, and finding things we agreed on and interests we shared. Contrary to the common modus operandi, I didn't stalk them in the manner of big game before applying a well-placed shot of tranquilizers and a prolonged period of indoctrination. Guess I'm just lucky like that.

In fact, one of my best friends I met in kindergarten.

I guess it pretty much trying to find the common things that we both like (for my best friend case comicbook) and expand it futhers to finding out other likes and dislikes that we both share (while I hate beer etc, my friend have a liver problem so he can't drink it at all).
