I recall me taking my PSX to gamestop after i bought the PS2. Then, upon finding i could only get 10 bucks for my console i decided to sacrifice that 10 dollars for a much more noble purpose; driving down the street at about 30 miles per hour hurling the system at street signs at 4 AM. Just getting payback for the countless hours i had spent wait for FF8 to F***ING LOAD!!!!!
HA, now THAT'S a good way to get rid of a PS1.

I still have them and the games stored in boxes in a closet, if they aren't in current use that is.

That said, right now I currently use:
Xbox 360
PS3
PS2
DS
PSP (Though it does take an act of congress to get a game that I actually care to play on the thing)

In storage (functional):
Xbox
N64
SNES
NES
Game Boy (Original)

In Storage (Unknown)
Atari 2600

I still have my old Atari, my old Super Nintendo and my old grey boxy Game Boy.

My Sega has since gone away.

I never bought anything past Sega and just played PC games from then on.

Well since I bought a later model PS3 I have kept my (fat arse) PS2 for whenever I want to play old Playstation games. My original Playstation got passed down (I think) and probably ended up in the bin. My old PSone was sitting in a cupboard the last time I saw it and may actually still be there. My original Xbox got sold to my sister's ex.

It is actually my sister's fault I ended up with a 40GB PS3. I helped her buy a laptop when I could've spent the money on a 60GB PS3 that played old games.
Don't be sad, original model PS3's backwards compatability meant that it needed a drive for DVDS and Blu-ray. This caused power surges = early death.

I too have the 40GB PS3 and keep a PS3. I also used to have NES but it died. Shame, I liked playing on it...

I've kept most of my old consoles except for the NES I owned years ago.

The ones I have kept are all in nice working order, though my copy of Super Mario RPG seems to be suffering an error where saves don't seem to take.

NES died so I threw it away. My father sold my Genesis after I got a PS1. The PS1 is collecting dust in the basement. I sold my PS2, games, and controllers to Gamestop so I could get more games and accessories for my XBox 360. My Gameboy's are floating around in limbo.

I could never get rid of a console. Unfortunately, I do not know where my Genesis has gone, and my mother must of put the NES somewhere when she reorganized the basement.
They're probably both stuffed in the back of the closet behind all the Christmas decorations.

All my other consoles happily give eachother company in my room, even though one isn't mine and the other is a newer model of a SNES that I borrowed from a friend when I gave my brother my actual old-skool one.
Yeah, I couldn't live without having an SNES in my house. He's not getting that back.

The ONLY console I've ever got rid of is my old GBC, because I felt GBA was a complete improvement so I sold it on. Other than that, there all around here somwhere, some in better condition than others.

My first was the PS2, which I sold. Big mistake. I bought a new one recently and I seriously think it's the best console ever made.

I keep all of my old consoles in a large blue chest with their respective games, exclusion to the abundance of Ataris I happen to have, which stay in their own large moving box.

My old ZX Spectrum +3, Sega Master System, Game Gear, Game Boys (original, pocket and color), GBA and Amiga 1200 are all in drawers and cupboards around my bedroom. They all get brought out of mothballs every so often just to make sure they're still in working order and to have some serious rose tinted glasses moments.

My NES is in the attic, gathering dust and mice. o_O
My Playstation is in the cupboard with the whiskey and is arguable more dusty than the bottles. ^^
My blocky PS2 is holding it's own beside my Xbox360 wedged in between the hi-fi unit and the decoder and are in use.
All my games save for the ones been played at present are stored with the cassette tapes (yes remember them!) and video tapes in the back room.
That is of course until my parents get a sudden urge to do a major spring cleaning by which all will be eagerly fucked into the recycling bin.
*sigh*
