I'm in high school, and learned how much of a b*!*# PWM cables are to make, and that you can make smokescreen with ping-pong balls, tin foil, and a fuse.

Chefs Class- learned that I hate chefs class more than before.

Study Period- Learned that Runescape is reverting to its old days!

Study Hall- Learned nothing but had fun.

Brit. Lit.- Learned that our school board is planning to take away study hall and lengthen classes. (also learned that I hate my school even more than before)

Conservation- Learned about Succession(in habitats) and John Denver

American High School is a pointless waste of time that hurts our economy now and isn't providing education to better our country in the future.

I'm in high school, and since its our first day back from winter break we didn't learn all that much, it was mostly review. In English though, we had a pretty god discussion on "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." Can't really name a fact from our discussion, but I still found it kinda informative.

I didn't go to school today, but I remembered that I had to read a whole book over the winter break.

And that I was excited to read it when I first got it.

..Yeah my English teacher is probably gonna give us a test over the whole thing tomorrow.. >_>

On Winter break from Uni! Woohoo!

I learned that I remember very little from high school besides History, mainly the French Revolution...just enough to help my younger brother with his essays. Yay!

G'day to all my fellow escapists!

Do you go to school, high scool, college, or are you studying at a university, etc?

Then share something with us that you learned today (or perhaps just before the Christmas holidays/Winter break, if you haven't started yet!).
[sub]If you didn't learn anything in school then feel free to share something else of interest that you have learned from... anywhere![/sub]

This is my 1000th post on this forum, and I thought I'd celebrate by creating a simple, hopefully, entertaining and informative/educational thread, filled with useful and useless knowledge!

Edit: Damn I use a lot of commas.
im still on christmas break, so nothing

History - Can't remember, easy ass class anyway.
English - Transcendentalism... yay.
Chemistry - Redox reactions, more specifically determining what the reducing and oxidizing agents are. Oh, and smores lab. =D
Pre-Calc - Trig. The basics, pretty much. Like if the cos(theta)= 7/5 then you determine the rest of the trig functions. (This was mainly review)
Lunch - Omnom
Wind ensemble - Mainly rhythmic dictation. Some in 5/4 too.
Music Theory - Dominant 7ths. You have no idea how fucking happy I was to learn about dominant 7ths.
Right about here is where I learned I'm not hopeless with girls.
Italian - Trapassato Prossimo (Perfect tense)

So... yeah. Good day.

Today was mostly a generic day (with regards to education)... the only thing of consequence that I got done was learning a bit more Calculus and teaching myself a few more guitar chords. Outside of education, and therefore technically outside of the realm of this topic, today was generally excellent and went a long ways towards restoring my faith in myself.

I'll have to second that particular sentiment. It's kind of mesmerizing.

Almost nothing if not for English.
And you know what? I think that's the point of pre-university education.

Today was a day of unlearning. I dropped my AP Physics class. And thus, a large amount of stress was removed from my person. Yay.

As a student teacher in kindergarten, I learned that when your very smart and capable students ask you for help with sounding out words to spell them, it's their subconscious way of getting my attention because, for the strangest reason, they enjoy my attention.
