This movie, along with Game of Thrones, has really made me hate non-serious catchphrases.

May poor writing be ever your saviour.

I actually kind of liked it.
The shaky-cam annoyed me, as did the lack of violence, which should have been there in order to match the absloutely brutal subject matter- I felt the incredibly disturbing concept of kids being forced to kill each other has its power largely undermined by the lack of non-pre-teen-friendly violence.
Still, it was pretty well-made and well-acted, and was a pretty good cinema experience (looked good on a big screen).
It definitely wasn't boring, either.

After the horrible Book to Movie adaptation that was te Harry Potter films I actually enjoyed it.

It really stayed to the the book where it could, and where it was different you could see why the changed stuff.

Not a fan of all the shaky-cam action sequences. Couldn't follow what was meant to be going on in those scenes. Apart from that though I suppose it was okay, nothing special. Glad somebody else bought my ticket for me.

It's an ok movie to be honest. It's more the really annoying fans that think the romance in it is decent that piss me off. I read the books. First one was good, second one ok the third dragged on for 300 pages too long and left me with a bitter taste in my mouth like a bag full of lemons

I really liked it and am looking forward to the others. I have not read any of the books.

To my suprise I actually did enjoyed it (I thought I would of hated it). I would of liked it more if it wasn't too focus on the lovey dovey stuff that happen in the film (yes I get it suppose to be an act to be more popular). Also yeah the violence at the start of the game is so weak sauce compared to Battle Royale (I can barely make out what happen in that scene).
That universe is so weird in that the district are like modern and poor setting while when you see the cities they have awful style (like those furniture in where they stayed) and apprently they suppose to be in the future as they got hi tech stuff for the game.

Lastly since we're talking about that film, I got to post this up-

Also this scene make so much sense to the many questionable moment in that scene (they are bunch of lazy gits for given up so easily to kill her on the tree and how did they not notice those hornet nest)!

I watched it and I never thought a movie about kids killing eachother could be so massively boring. The only thing I can say in the movie's favor is that Stanley Tucci certainly looked like he was enjoying himself and the degree to which he was allowed to ham it up.

I was bored to be honest. I did think that the ideas were interesting but otherwise dull.

The characters were boring, the special effects were crappy, the actors were meh, and the story was uninteresting on the whole. And the shaky-cam. Gods, the shaky-cam.
I'm sort of surprised they managed to make a movie about what's basically a long gladiator match boring.

Pretty shitty movie all over.

It was mostly entertaining, yet unremarkable. There were funny moments, and there were worrisome moments. There was no twist ending, but a few fairly pointless twists nonetheless.

I guess it was average. Personally, I liked it, but I watched it with my new girlfriend, so there's that bias. However, I think that most of you are perhaps siding with MovieBob, who tends to be very critical unless social commentary is involved in his review's subject matter.

It wasn't bad, with some decent action, and some sense of care towards the main character. Not a lot, but enough to actually give a shit about what was happening to her.

However, what I am disappointed by is the total lack of balls on the books' author side.

All the really tough decisions the main character are taken out of her hand by a Deus Ex.
The little black girl helping Katniss? Killed off by a random dude using an obvious trap, the likes of which she had been dodging for dozens of hours. The little red-head running around dodging shit left and right, stealing food like a fucking boss? Killed off as part of plot exposition, by something so stupid, even I would know not to do it. I mean for fuck's sake, everyone knows to eat berries you aren't sure are edible, and especially not in a fucking death arena filled with more traps and deadly/venomous shit than Australia.
No emotion filled scene at the end where Katniss finds herself having to decide what to do with scared little 12 year old girls and the obligation for them(or her) to die. Just a "shit happens, so now it's you and the love interest pulling off a Romeo and Juliet bluff"
The bad guys are bad for reasons, and at no point does the movie portray them as anything but dickish cannonfodder.

Basically, a decent movie if you indeed to watch as a time waster, but it doesn't hold off deconstruction very well.

Didn't hate it but didn't love it either. Mostly disappointing. When I saw it I had only read the first book and I really liked it (in hindsight much more than the other two). I felt that it could have been so much better if they would have dropped the pg-13 pretensions. I mean you are making a movie about children as young as 12 being forced to kill each other for reality television while there friends and family are made to not only watch but cheer. This is some sick and twisted stuff. But I understand why they did it and I can't really blame them.

Considering it was aimed at the same demographic as Twilight, its not too bad. It's nothing great, but at least its watchable.
