Honestly I would've given this award to SR:II because it has funnier mini-games but I don't have that one in my Steam library, so this one gets the consolation price due to the absence of the superior one I guess.
You...can choose literally any game in the store. Doesn't have to be from your library.

Test of Time
Shining Force -Not only is it the oldest game I own, it's still among my favourite games ever. I love almost everything about this game.

I'm not crying, there is something in my eye
Bastion -There's a choice you can make near the end of the game. The choice I made, combined with the music, narration, and gameplay effects had me on the verge of weeping. Certain deaths made me come close to this in Mass Effect 3 (ya the ending was shit, but damn if there weren't some powerful moments), but Bastion would still take this even if ME3 was on Steam.

Just five more minutes
Stellaris -I decided to go with a recent game for this one. I play on Ironman mode, so the game autosaves at the start of each month. This ends up giving me a "one more month" mentality.

Whoa due Fuck does the title of this award make me cringe
Dark Souls - I picked it because for me, it was a bit of a mind-fuck the first time I took the elevator down from the Gargoyles and realized I was at Firelink. It was at that moment that I realized why people raved about the intricacy of the game's world.

Villain most in need of a hug
I'd pick Bastion in this too if I hadn't already picked it in another category. The only reason I don't pick it here over the other is because you could easily argue that there is no villain and simply people trying to do what is best for their people. Suffice to say, I agree with Level7Dragon on this guy and that I find it hard to believe I'd do things differently. So.... I'll be honest, I can't think of another game where I genuinely felt this way of the villain. There are games with memorable villains, but very few have the depth that I feel comes even close to Bastion's. So throw away time! I pick Fallout 4. Clearly if you'd been able to hug the villain more he wouldn't have done the things he did.

Game within a game
Witcher 3 -Gwent. Don't think I need to say anything else.

Dirty fucking hipster award
I pretty much never buy games when they first come out, so if a game is going to win an award, it'll have won it already by the time I play it. Gotta take advantage of those sales.

Best Soundtrack for Life Altering Decisions
Dark Souls III -I will one day make a life or death decision and the Twin Princes' soundtrack will be playing.

Really couldn't think of one for the farm animal award. I was tempted to vote Skyrim ironically for the crime reporting chickens.... but no. I will not award that shit. Especially since it has since been patched.

Test of Time: Turok

I'm not crying: Obviously Undertale (although Undertale would really work in most of the catagories)

just 5 more min: Xcom 2

Whoooooah Dude: Spec Ops the Line

Villain most in need of a hug: Armello

Game within a Game: GTA5 I blanked and couldnt really think of anything.

I thought this game was cool before it won an award: Sakura Dungeon, much much more enjoyable than I expected

Best use of a farm animal: Blanked again and just put Ducktales

Custom "I'll quit when I'm dead": Smite I quit it once for like 2 years, booted it up again to just do something completely fell back into it.

Homefront: The Revolution for Game within a Game.

Because you can play TimeSplitters 2 inside Homefront.

And then you can play Anaconda, AstroLander, and Retroracer inside TimeSplitters 2.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Tru dat. I voted for this, and for the "Whooooaaaa Dude" award I nominated Superhot. I'm kind of surprised no one else in the thread did, the award seems tailor-made for it.

Here's what I voted for -

Test of time - Deus Ex

Still do a run through every year or so. Yes, the graphics are horrendous, yes the shooting is terrible, but still an amazing game. Was a toss up between this and KoToR.

I'm not crying - TWD Season 1

Season two had its moments, but the ending of Season 1 was the toughest.

Just five more minutes - FTL

This could have been so many games, but FTL fit the bill I think. Is tough to put down, especially once you're a few systems in.

Woah dude - Far Cry Blood Dragon

The epitome of the Award imo. If bill & ted had a game, this would be it.

Villain in need of a hug - KoToR 2

Kreia - I'm sure all she needs is someone to love her. Was happy when she died though tbh.

Game within a game - GTA V

Like others, I found this one difficult. But I nominated GTA V partly for GTA Online, and partly for everything else you can do. Great game.

Hipster award - Portal

I was the only person I knew at the time who was more excited for Portal than Ep2 & TF2 when the Orange Box was announced, and Portal was the first game that I installed after purchasing the OB. Brilliant, brilliant game.

Best use of a farm animal - Dishonored

Farmers hate rats - but I'm sure that if a farmer could use rats to kill his enemies, he'd love them.

The Bring a Friend and Eat Him Award for Making Cannibalism Fun - Tharsis

Never has killing and eating your crew mates been more beneficial.

You get some Steam account XP.
...wat?
You get a badge.
And what's a Steam Badge?
Badges are pretty much "achievements" but for Steam. Some events and things give them out. Each badge gives you some XP and...that's about it. They show up in your profile, too.

As for XP it makes your account "level up". Every few levels you get some extra things unlocked - mostly cosmetics for Steam - you get some showcase sections for your profile, where you can put badges or game achievements or some related stuff. It's just when somebody clicks on your profile, they'd easily see it - that's it. The non-cosmetics you get from levels is an expanded friend limit - every few levels (5 or 10, can't remember) you get +5 maximum Steam friends. I think it caps at some point but I can't remember the number. For reference, you start off with about 300 friends limit.
