I was browsing Steam and noticed the 40k sale and I realised something. I am sick and tired of Space Marines. I love the 40k universe but I am tired of every game being about Space Marines.

So my idea would be a game where you get to play as an Eldar Farseer. You have x number of days/months until the destruction of your crfatworld and you have to find a way to prevent its destruction. You would have multiple things you could do a turn but only pick one of them. These actions could be a pre emtive strike on an enemy base, a sabotage mission on enemy production or a mission to manipulate 2 enemies into fighting each other. With each mission you would get a glimps of the future, how your actions have effected what will happen to your Craftworld. The changes to the future would then influence what you do next.

It would be crazy difficult to do I imagine and there would be little to no replay value once you discover the best order in which to do missions but I think it could work.

As for gameplay I am unsure. I really did enjoy the original Dawn of War rts but maybe a 3rd person combat style where you could really appreciate the epic psychic powers of the Farseer would work better.

Anyway that would be my dream project. How about you guys?

God of War (or a game with the same gameplay as God of War made by the God of War team) set in Egyptian mythology.

After Zeus and Cronos anything else in Greek Mythology will feel like a step backwards so bring Kratos to a new mythology, preferably Egypt since I don't see a lot of games based around egyptian mythology. Oh sure there's plenty of games with levels set in Egypt where you get chased by mummies and scarabs and stuff but they never really go deep into the mythology or involve the Gods the way God of War does.

It doesn't have to be Kratos though, if they want to make a whole new series that's a god of war clone but set in Egypt then go for it. Kratos has been getting more 2 dimensional as the series progresses so there won't be a huge loss, plus we'd get to speculate over who would beat who in a fight, Kratos or new protagonist.

I'm kinda hoping for Assassin's Creed to do something in my country before it keels over.
While I'm sure they wouldn't threat the Irish Revolution kindly, I still get giddy about the idea of Assassins fighting in 1916 :p

I would love to play Dragon Age 4 with Xcom style turn based tactical combat. DA:O has my favourite combat in the series but I think this would be even better.

Specifically?

Well, I'm not one for "taking an IP entirely in a new direction" unless it's absolutely floundering. Like, I love most of the Paper Mario games, but I wouldn't want all the new Mario games to be Paper Mario games.

One I can think of is the Elder Scrolls games being less restrictive, in many, many ways. More types of combats (Put in proper unarmed combat Bethesda), less plot restriction (Essential characters and the like. I mean, you can avoid starting the whole plot of Skyrim, so I see no reason why it should be so restrictive otherwise), being able to take down all the various organizations or join them (Really wanted to take down the Thieves Guild) and so on.

I would like KotOR to update its gameplay to a more action-focused kind. You know, if they ever make a new one.

The old system is fun, but its really simple and honestly with today's standards that kind of gameplay is a little out of place. Dragon Age already drives me away by sticking to their current combat system.

I would like someone to adapt the Kingdoms of Amalur gameplay. That game merged action and RPG style gameplay pretty well IMO.

First take on the egyptian gods, then work his way eastwards, killing every mythological being. There's potential for some pretty awesome scenes with both indian, chinese, and japanese mythology.

I'd like Resident Evil to lean heavily toward the action gameplay of The Last of Us, where there's no fancy moves or extensive weapons load-out, but just a guy with a couple of guns, some crafted health/attack items, and his wits. Basically take the gameplay of the classic RE games and modernize it control-wise, where you have free movement over your character and aim, but it's still heavy and you're not super athletic, big-dick hero man. Where the prospect of three regular goon enemies coming at you actually scares you.

You could say they sort of tried that with Revelations 2, but Capcom really needs to improve its floaty controls, because it ruined that game for me.

Agreed, I would even just like to see them decide to update the gameplay from the previous entries. I don't really need say, The Force Unleashed style gameplay for future Dragon Age and KOTOR entries (though it would be nice) but something that makes it less obvious that the whole thing is just a pen and paper RPG underneath the hood. Just more mobility and fast paced combat in general would help a lot.

You know... I would just like to see Star Wars getting into open world games. Ideally Bethesda doing it or something along those lines, but just something GTA style would be great. We only really get to see small snippets of the Star Wars universe overall in any media it is in and it would be fun to actually explore that universe in a detailed up close and personal manner.

I'd like it if Fire Emblem went back to the writing direction of the GBA titles/Radiant cycle. Enough with the Japanime Moe shit.

I'd like Assassin's Creed to be a stealth game.

Marvel did an event like that. It was called Chaos War. Basically a pissy Japanese deity went around eating all the other gods and Hercules and a team go out to stop him. It was pretty fun.

I would love a Witcher game in the Legacy of Kain universe. That would be so awesome. Witcher 3 already had a lot of awesome quests with vampires and werewolves and I would love for CDPR to totally delve into this kind of stuff. The gameplay of Witcher 3 would also complement the LoK games perfectly.

I would also love a From Software game in the Biomega universe. Probably my most favorite manga of all time and the entire series(espescially the first half) almost reads like a design-document for one kick-ass videogame. From could really do the dark, moody and subtle atmosphere of Biomega justice.

So in short Witcher 3 into LoK and Souls/Bloodborne into Biomega. :p

Well if it is Kratos... it would be the just like the Hercules series in the 90s. They got bored of his Greek squabbles so he went to Egypt, had some interactions with Norse gods, and I think he even hit Ireland.

What I would like to see...

1. Silent Hills
Yes, I would like that to happen even though its completely dead with no opportunity for resurrection. But I was so hopeful.

2. Resident Evil
This would actually be going into a new old direction. They clearly want to get multiplayer stuff in. But the best ideas they've had for that was actually the way Outbreak worked. And it worked pretty well for the infancy of console online that the PS2 had.

3. Assassin's Creed
I still say the cleverest thing they could do at Ubisoft is a crossover with Splinter Cell. I always thought that someone would hop in the animus and end up as Sam Fisher.

4. Call of Duty
Keep the 3 year cycle for each developer.... but scrap Infinity Ward. It's clear that they aren't good at it. While talking about COD, could they innovate their own ideas instead of poaching from Respawn (the real Infinity Ward) and using Titanfall's ideas. Even Halo was liberally adapting Titanfallish things.

Oh, hell yeah. Turn based Dragon Age is the dream. Although I would prefer it to be more like Divinity: Original Sin than X-com, but whatever,

I'd like a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game that had the Zone expand to all of central Europe, making anomalies and awesome mutants with subtle local accentuations and flavours to the encounters.

Basically more S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Please?

Look up Survarium, which is the Not STALKER MMO made by the same people who made STALKER and features Not Anomolies and Not Artifacts.

I think it's basically what you described.

Oh yeah, I remember this now! Looks amazing, but the problem with this is, is that I hate playing with other people for the most part, and want only the single-player experience... still, it's worth supporting if it leads to such an option.

You know, I've had the very same idea ever since hearing Garrus talk about his time as Archangel and his team in Mass Effect 2. Well actually, I was thinking more along the lines of Fallout Tactics at the time, but the release of XCOM Enemy Unknown made me realize it would make a better fit.

Failing that, I'd also take a tactical (big emphasis on the tactical) shooter with some light rpg thrown in there.

Speaking of Mass Effect, I'd say it's universe would also lend itself well to a 4X game.

One thing I would kind of like is a sort of mix of Witcher 2/3 Sword fighting with Deus Ex like gunplay. Not sure how it would work exactly but i think both systems (heavily) tweaked could create an awesome Action RPG
