Logically, they're not fizzy, not syrupy and not too strong in flavour, because RPG heroes can neck them in the middle of a battle like there's no tomorrow.

I'd say probably not too pleasant, if it's an alchemical mixture. If, however, potions are made by enchanting normal liquids, they probably taste like boiled water with a little berry juice, just like Granny Weatherwax used to brew!

Health potions taste like morphine, or, you know, any kind of opium derivative. Makes your mouth go numb. Maybe a pinch of cinnamon. Suspended in some kind of thickener, has the consistency of honey dissolved in a bit of water.

Mana potions taste like steaming sake followed by a shot of icy gin. Almost insubstantial, has the consistency of rubbing alcohol. It's like trying to drink vapor.

I like to think health potions are foul, like charcoal solution hospitals use to flush toxins out of your digestive system. It's truly nasty.

Mana potions on the other hand would taste better. I don't know if delicious... kinda fruity.

I'd imagine healing potion actually has taste similar to alcohol based beverage and it should warm up the body from the inside (think 35%+), as fro specific taste i guess it could be flavoured to be slightly sweet, maybe liquor like.

Mana potions on the other hand should have tingly sensation to them, more soda like or maybe like allt hose fancy powders that sprinkle in your mouth, should have some "electric" feel to it and the flavour would be rather sour (grapefruit/lemon?)

I think they probably taste alcoholic, at least that's what the mana bar thinks.

I've always imagined HP potions taste like strawberry/raspberry juice, while mana potions taste like blueberry.

HP potion - vintage, full bodied red wine.
MP potion - ...... I don't know, how about... moonshine(nasty ass flavor with none of the alcohol).

Edit: Ninja'd I see.

HP Potions = Strawberry

Mana Potions = Blueberry

But not like a fruit smothie, more like those imposter flavours with lots of sugar that barely relate to the fruit they claim to be :)

Health potions taste like the Fire of the Earth, a deep, soulful flavour.
Mana potions move of their own accord, like slippery sea slugs from beneath Cthulu's realm, like swallowing a large ball of slime.

Probably.

It's medicine. Well, the HP potions are, anyway. I'd bank on the health potions tasting like cheap cough-syrup. The mana potions on the other hand just restore energy... So I'd imagine those would taste like a very concentrated energy drink, which would be awful if you ask me...
nice avatar.

Health potions taste like the exhilirating feeling of having a second chance when it seemed you'd never have one.
Mana potions taste like power, as though reality and all it's components are bowing down to you once more.

Most Heroes need to go into rehabilitation after finishing their quests. They wouldn't even need to be alcoholic (like i assume the one's served in yahtzee's mana bar would be) if they're so thrilling already.
