I love Asterix and Obelix! Although I haven't really read much Tintin, so I can't really give a balanced opinion. Nonetheless, I will be going to see the Tintin film next year.

Personally, I LOVED Asterix and Obelix. They both were massive in Iceland, where I grew up, and I watched the crap out of both VHS tapes I had of the movies. The cartoon movies, not the live action one. Buuuut, I never liked the look of Tintin, so I never gave it a shot. *shrug*

Asterix and Obelix. The humor is just perfect. Mind you, the newer albums without Goscinny are total crap.

Tintin is great too. Read them all and have the animation on DVD.

IMO they are both among the greatest comic book series ever. Marvel and DC can't even touch this stuff.

[Edit] Oh, and Tintin isn't French, it's Belgian.

Asterix and Obelix are so cool, almost as cool as Pokemon! I've got a number of their... books, comics? Whatever, they make me laugh.

I grew up reading my dad's copies, but I have to say I was more of an Asterix & Obelisk fan than I was of TinTin.

Asterix all the way. To be fair, I haven't actually read any Tin-Tin, so maybe I'll eat my words when I do, but I will say that Asterix is clever, funny, and has some of the best comedic timing of their running jokes that I've ever seen. Especially impressive is that it's translated over from its original French and still contains some sharp word-play.

They're both amazing but I'm gonna have to go with Tintin, just for this:

I grew up on both the comics and the cartoons. I'm gonna go search for them now.

Asterix is fucking amazing.
I've had a few good games with them in as well, Tin Tin never had a decent game.

Few do when I change.

With Andy Serkis as Haddock and Daniel Craig as Red Rackham? This is one movie I really want to see.
