Please try and use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.

I have no idea how an FPS might work, they haven't revealed any yet so I'm not sure your question can be answered.

My god the grammer and spelling nazi's may just asplode from that!

Anyway, I am a bit warey about Project Natal as it is, so no matter how I think of it, it will probably end badly anyway.

yea it would end up bad but I'm still sure that some game designer will make one just to see how it would work out for it

This will be the Wii all over again. Piles of badly thought out gimicky control games will drive us all nuts as the companies hunt the "casual gamer $"

Hopefully? With a controller. Natal's speech recognition could allow for interesting squad-based combat. Maybe some movements could allow the player to control other aspects of the game.

Plausibly? It will do it badly. Although a bad pantomime of a soldier would be hilarious to watch, decent gaming it would not make.

To the OP: Chances are many more will say this, but please work on your spelling and grammar. We here at The Escapist pride ourselves on ours; don't you want to hang with the cool kids?

Please, please try not to intentionally butcher the english laguage so badly. You can use commas and points, you know.

Actually, insofar as FPS is concerned, you can look at technology that's been around for a couple years called Track IR [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AO0F5sLdVM] to get a fair idea. I post that as a general look at the applications of head tracking, but the third game demonstrated is Armed Assault, an FPS.

I'm interested to see how they pull it off, Natal DOES seem interesting, even if I do fear it'll be the Wii over again. Anyways, as far as FPS goes, I've got plenty of airsoft guns to scan into the game, I think I'll be alright as far as controller goes. =p

From what I've seen of Natal, I think it would be possible to make a magic-themed FPS/TPS using hand motions to throw fireballs/magic missiles/whatever and your voice to select the spells to be cast.

While the idea of Natal is not too bad, the technology at the time seems very basic and limited, so it's really difficult to predict what direction it'll go in.

The one thing I'm worried about is the walking I'm still dumbfounded about that idea

Might 'asplode' from that, too.

The answer is that I think Natal would need a further attachment/piece of technology to run an FPS half decently.

I think Microsoft went the wrong way in COMPLETELY removing the controller... First off, certain games (Fps') need one, so I don't know how a FPS would work with Natal... probably mimick a gun in your hand? we'd look like silly little kids lol... but then, who would do that? you could just use your imagination and pretend to be shooting people for a lot less money with that.

also, Natal means that Microsoft have prevented themselves from makign extra profit from the games by selling off peripherals... since they can't do that, they're gona lost out unlike Sony/Nintendo who will (Sony) and have (Nintendo) gone peripheral-tastic! lol

I think if they make a FPS with Natal, it will be used in conjunction with a controller. Either that or FPSs will have some cheap, gimmickey, tacked-on control scheme much like the cross platform games for Wii. But then again, no one really knows.

I was about to defend the OP's grammar and say we should applaud him for learning because he probably lives in a country where most people speak English poorly if at all. Then I checked. He's from Kentucky. I was kinda right.
