You just rot...

Frankie...

^^ large cookie of your choice for THAT reference ^^

OT: I personally think we get born again in an alternate world, with no knowledge of any past existence. Yeah, I know I'm weird...

I believe that my brain dies from lack of [insert essential substance here] and rots out to the point where even if they could reconstruct a brain from scans they made before or just after a mild death, they couldn't do it with mine.

And then I can't be resurrected.

I got a better question: What do you think happened to you before you where born?

Was it the same thing that happens to you when you die? I mean if we are supposed to have some immortal spirit wouldn't it have existed before we were born as well?

It always struck me as odd that nobody bothers to address this in religions. Well except the concept of reincarnation, which still doesn't add up as there are as more people around then ever before, so where there souls just hanging around in limbo waiting for a spare body to open up?

...when I die? you mean *if* I die :D I'm a personified pestilence walking the earth; the world won't be rid of me that easily!!!

end of the line means lights out. that's my belief anyway^^

Well, unless it is a particularly gruesome death, I suppose my body will just decompose, probably be consumed by some detritivores underground, or wherever I may end up dead.

I'm honestly not sure what I THINK, but I certainly HOPE for some kind of afterlife. And, if there is no afterlife... Immortality is nice too. Yeah, you know what? I don't want to take any chances with the afterlife part, just make me immortal, please.

We either find out the answer to that question or were beyond caring about it.

to be honest i have no idea, and wouldnt even try to hazard a real definite guess.

Heh, not unless you die in glorious battle sir. I challenge you to a DUEL! If we both die, we both have a 50% chance of heading to Odin's drinking hall *narrows eyes* and I intend to drink him under the table.

I don't think about it really. I've looked at different religions and haven't found an answer that satisfies me. I've considered the idea that you fall into nothingness, but that's a rather downer answer. I just can't wrap my head around the concept of an afterlife, but I can't imagine me not existing either.

Maybe i'm dreaming and when I die I wake up into another dream. And when I die in that dream I wake up in another dream. I kind of like that idea actually, maybe i'll go with that until I find something better.

If all goes as planned, i'll semi-rot inside a metal statue that shows me in a heroic or evil pose!

But i'm sure you were asking on the philosophical "afterlife" theories. I can gladly say i'm not ignorantly following a religious stand-point on that, and I do believe life ends when the mind shuts off in an unrepairable manor. That being said we still don't understand well enough to know if our years of thought and existence don't somehow leave an imprint on the universe itself in some unseen chemical, mathematical, or psychological plane devoid of all understanding.

I like to hope the whole "ghostly" existence if plausible would be an energy based consciousness that could see the universe change, aware of it or not.

I'm assuming it's just like going to sleep forever.

Yeah.
That'd be awesome!

I'd like to go to Heaven or be reborn as something new. I'm not sure however...

Well, I guess I believe in reincarnation. In science, nothing is created nor destroyed, only altered. Plus I compair death to sleeping. You never remember the blackness of sleeping. You either dream, or seeminly fastforward to the next day, albeit hazy, which makes me think you dont just rot.

I dont believe in any sort of heaven or hell though.

We rot. we return back to the earth from which we came. Time on earth is twice as precious when you know this is the only chance you get at life.
