being a very non-competitive person by nature, on the rare occasion I do play online, i use a good beating as an excuse to stay off online games for another month or two. that or I call my opponents big bedwetting dootie heads.

well i usually take a break and go to a game where i can just kill every thing in sight....like gta or maybe a hunting game...its a good way to get rid of the urge of throwing the console off the roof

This.

I can't even begin to count the number of times this has applied to me, but I'm going to assume it's well in to the millions.

Yes, exactly this.

Left 4 Dead or something similar on easy. Nothing picks me up better than effortlessly taking down endless swathes of opponents.

If I lose in a competitive game, I figure out why if it means that much to me and then play some more to improve. Most of the time it doesn't and I just care if I had fun or not.

Now if I had to deal with frustration, then I would play something fun and that I excell at to conqure all that I see. These days it's Plants vs Zombies.

Well, last wee, my girlfriend gave me head for my birthday while I was playing COD.
In natural gamer's fashion, I slammed my controller down when I died. Into her head.
Her response? She hit me in the balls. Hard.

By the way, that is no joke I swear.
Pure gold.

I don't generally play competitive games like that (mostly owing to a lack of being able to...) When I did lose miserably though, I would switch out to a game that I'm really good at and just let my frustrations out on easy/ very easy mode.

Depends. If I fail against an enemy (Dark Souls, WoW arena matches, BF3) ? I analyze. And now most of the time it's "my dumb mistake, I'm such an idiot ><" or "enemy had better reflexes, kudos to him".

If a team mate shoots me in BF3, then another and then another ? I go on a team killing spree, get booted for TK and go for a smoke/check the news. THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR KILLING ME ? I START TO THINK THAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY THE ENEMY /rage

Usually, after being thoroughly humiliated, I kill myself. It's just what works best for me. It might not work for everybody though.

Go play a singleplayer game. On normal. And crush my enemies!
RTS are good for this - you get the satisfaction of building up a huge horde and overrunning your foes, and it's rather hard to find an AI that can actually pose a threat.
