I work part time at the local carehome while I study a long distance degree in psychology and literature.

The job isn't great. Well, technically I have three jobs, all from the same company: Housekeeper, Kitchen Assistant and Hostess. Anyway, the pay is crap, the environment is crap, I'm always rushed off my feet, dealing with residents with dementia can be very challenging and cleaning up old people poop is never fun when housekeeping. It can be quite fulfilling to help the elderly though, even if I don't like my employer in the least bit.

Work the early evening shift in an office, or 10th circle of hell as I prefer to call it :p. Damn you pointless bureaucracy!

Though the pay is decent and most of my co-workers are easy to get along with, the work hours play havoc with my sleeping pattern and the main boss in my team seems to take great pleasures in sucking with little joy there is in the job out.

If you count writing reviews as a job, then I do that.

Other than that though as far as getting paid, I make chocolate, confectioneries and other sweet stuff at a small bakery with about 2 other people (owner and her husband), making stuff for their store and catering events. Cookies and such stuff like that.

Not bad for a 17 year old, eh? :3
Why do you remind me of Tomoya so much? o_O

OT: I don't have a job as of yet. Planning to apply to a few magazines during the summers as a writer.

I'm just a trainee soccer referee. I don't get paid much, but I guess I'm only in high school, so all is good. :)
You must have the thickest skin around to be going for that type of job jesus. Don't go near the premier league lest you want people burning effigy's of you haha

Actor. I also do extras work and have just got my first film role to shoot in the summer, looking forward to it a lot!
other than that I've only just finished working at Argos here in the UK. I was at Sixth form before that (waste of my fucking life there)

I'm studying game design in my spare time because I want to start making indie games. so hopefully that'll eventually become a second job!

here's to the future!

just out of curiosity, those who have one

oh and I have been succesful! I just got me a job in a nice office! (feel a little guilty as perhaps other guy deserved it more) but yay!!!!! Ive been waiting all day for the call!!
I don't know why, because I know, deep inside, I shouldn't care, but I just want to say
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :DDD:D:D:D:D in the most jovial and sincere way humanly possible.

SOMEone got a job now at least. I know my brother's been waiting two fucking years for one, and he has the highest grades imaginable.
thanks :)

honestly I dont particually feel like I deserve it, and I can see why long term unemployment would be so depressing, my heart goes out to anyone in such a situation

anyway not doing anything is certainly not a healthy life style, though Ill have less time to waste on the Escapist
If you didn't deserve it they would not have given you the job. These kind of offices spend a lot of time looking for the right applicant.

Thanks man, i've been trying to find work for a while now. My problem is that I sound like a teenager but look like a 30 year old so people haven't really been able to place me. its had its ups and downs and while this role is cool (4 scenes with dialogue and apparently I have one with Joss Ackland) I still have a way to go before I can sustain myself. I don't even have an agent yet!
down time sucks because there isn't much to do and 99% of my friends have gone to uni. but when i'm working its great, i'm looking forward to getting stuck in a bit more.

thanks for the congrats too.

Unemployed but searching. Damn this small, mostly-filled job market. Soon-to-be a uni student (hopefully), though, so I probably shouldn't get too attached to a job in case I need to move for studies.

I work for Title Boxing (a Boxing/MMA distributor), a warehouse job to be more precise. I pull orders, load trucks, make heavy bags. I really hate it, but the pay and benefits are really good.
