I've always wanted to set up a booth somewhere and take a poll of what people do for a living. Not what they want to do, not what they're going to school for. What do you DO to earn a paycheck to get by day to day?

Personally, I package tea in a warehouse to be distributed to store all over Canada. It's not glamorous, but it pays the bills.

My seasonal job just finished, but I will start again in Febuary. I work(ed) for the National Trust. Currently I sign on JSA to pay the rent.

mmmm, i bet it smells good :) so you got that going for you :)

i sell professional carpet cleaning products and equipment. i work for my stepdad, who is a great guy. also not a glamorous job, but i'm treated well and i know my job well. and in this economy, that's better than most people are doing, so i can't complain.

I'm still living at home, so no rent for me.

I work at a caravan park, I mow and rake and pick stuff up. Its pretty dull but its super easy, so I can't complain.

Next year, or the year before I'll be on my own though.. What will I do then huh? Scary.

Student, I get into debt.
This ^

I did used to deliver pizza and work in a shop but it took up too much of my time and I decided that I would rather be poor and have a good degree rather than be a bit better off and have a poor degree.

Just started my first day at work today as a matter of fact.
I'm working at Greggs, a bakers. It does look pretty fun, not as bad as I could have got.

I'd tell you, but then I'd have to go through the trouble of tracking you down... and telling you not to tell anyone else... and it would be a pain in the ass...

I "used" to be a janitor, before that, a cook. so i think that's good enough for your knowledge... :p

Eh, a few oddjobs here and there but nothing real steady.

My last substantial work experience is over three years old and I have no references. No company will actually hire me.

I earn money.

In all seriousness, i do contracting work. Mostly technical repair work, which tends to mean fixing minor issues in computers.
