What do you do when you get bored?

So I have 5/6 weeks off for summer. Other than do a few things to do with my university application, and maybe go out with friends a few times, I have shit all to do for about 4 of these weeks.

I'm 3 days into this massive break, and even the thought of opening a video game is boring me to death (which is rare for me). Normally when I'm bored I sit around refreshing sites like the Escapist and Youtube looking for something that might be interesting, and I don't know if I can handle that for 4 weeks >.>

So, inspire me Escapist, what do you people do when you're bored, what do you think I should do when I'm bored to hell?

Keep in mind that I'm extremely lazy and demotivated, that kinda limits a lot of things that I can be bothered to do.

Hmmm.

I only really get bored when I have to work. I would quite happily spend the rest of my days on holiday and love every minute of it.

My answer is exercise. I may be hard to start, but it gives you energy and focus, I find it leaves me with a sense of well-being.

I can't honestly answer this inquiry as my suggestions would be of a quasi-illegal nature.

Barring that, find a new hobby. I suggest papercraft. It's pretty easy, cheap and you can come out with some BAWS little decorations in the shapes of your favorite videogame/anime/comic/etc characters.

Or, try and get a pen and paper role-playing group together. That's always pretty goodtimes.

I generally masturbate if I'm at home alone. If there be people here I play vidja games and if I'm out I disturb some of society's shit.

Get your ass a job. I work but in my spare time I do lots of martial arts. An added bonus is it will wear you out and you will sleep more, giving you less time to be bored. Put it this way, Ryu never gets bored.

I normally read a book by a lamp, there's something comforting about jumping into a fantasy world while your being imbued by a low wattage light source.

Well I can either...

youtube
Go on the escapist
Watch a movie or anime
Play games
Ask a friend to come over
TV
Read a book
Or play a visual novel on my computer.

Also I can go out if I want to buy a new game or something.

You could always try a new game of your favorite genre, whether it is FPS or RPG or RTS or Whatever.

You could masturbate.

You could try to play previously played games in a harder difficulty, I did this with God of War, Minecraft (Used to play it on peaceful all the time), Half Life 2, Spore, Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Bioshock, and they got at least twice as entertaining.

You could masturbate.

You could learn how to cook (if you don't know how)

You could masturbate.

You could disassemble your PC and give it a good ol' cleaning. On a related note, learn how to disassemble your PC and learn how to put it back together.

You could collect stamps since you fucked your computer disassembling it.

You could masturbate.

I'm more inclined to work overtime and make extra cash when life is slow.

In reality though I tend to come up with some labour intensive hobbies that will eat up a lot of time to occupy myself. Being a big fan of D&D..I know that at some point I will be acting as a DM for my own campaign again. This may not be for another year though. If ever I feel bored, I simply dedicate my time to working on that.

Another example involves my magic card decks. I'll deck test new decks against others that I own single player with the goal of trying to learn what works and what doesn't. During a time when I got bored...I decided to take this idea to the next level and actually create a league involving all my magic decks to play off against one another. In the end I'll have a result as to which deck is best, how it performs against aggro style, control style, combo style decks ect. This is a project I've had ongoing for over 3 years and is something of a go to task when I'm bored.

Lastly, being bored is the best time to do anything healthy. Go out for a lot of walks or bike rides. Work out, experiment with new food meals rather than continuing with your routine. These are things you might shrug off when life is busy...take advantage of it now. Major house cleaning chores are a good time sink to get out of the way as well of course.

I play League of Legends atm, its not too bad if you can get past other ppls arrogance. Free to play and I wouldn't recommend putting actual money into it.

Hmm.. Haha, nice list you got going there. One thing I have spent alot of my free time doing lately has been watching youtube videos in bulk amounts, then again, who doesn't?

Video games, writing, learning the Kana of the Japanese language, or listening to music from Higurashi and Umineko no Naku Koro ni, on my iPod's Youtube app.

I get bored quite easily...

I watch Futurama or go online. Usually at the same time, as I'm doing now. I'd recommend it!

I usually read whenever I'm bored. You should consider building up a good reading list.

I do the following:

Watch youtube
Watch Law & Order: Criminal intent
Read a book
Learn French
Play videogames
Watch cartoons

I am toying with the idea of learning German as well. You can never learn too many languages.
