It depends on why I'm sad.

The all around cure seems to be sleep though.

When I left my last girlfriend I stayed in bed for days from guilt, dreaming it away.

The only other 'Band-aid' seems to be certain friends, and that doesn't always work.

Isn't it even more sad to realize that there's almost no escape from something that will continue to happen for the rest of your life, slowly wearing you down until life finally leaves your body and you ascend to (hopefully) eternal happiness?

Yeah, I'm just a bowl of peaches aren't I?
Try singing my song. I know it sounds goofy and dumb, but it really works.
I like your cheer-it-up attitude.

Singing songs is something I sometimes do when I'm sad, and it really does work.

Putting on a smile even if you don't want to does sometimes too.

I guess there are more things I can do to cheer myself up.

Sometimes it just feels like there isn't.

We all get a little blue sometimes. It just happens. When I'm feeling down I like to sing "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah". I really do. I just brightens up my day. What do you Escapists do when you're feeling sad?
Watch the Warner Brothers and the Warner Sister. That turns my frown upside down.

...Did I just say that?

Writing usually... there's a feeling that the world gets lighter when I write it out, especially if the negative can be turned into a positive through prose or "poem" format.

But also sleep. Lots of sleep.

I do the dorkiest thing ever. I go into my room, close the door, set my iPod to full volume and to Through the Fire and Flames, and air guitar. It's incredibly stupid, but dammit, I have fun! XD

I cut myself.. Heh.. Not really...

I actually refine my plan for world conquest. I'm still set on using religious fanatics to do my bidding, but it doesn't seem likely..

Other than that, I tend to transform my sadness into anger, as anger is much more useful, much more fun, and much more horrifying than moping around and crying about shit.

Listen to some EBM or Symphonic Metal while surfing the internet

Play Video Games

Kick back with a non-alcoholic beverage of choice and stargazing

Watch some philosophy-heavy anime (Ghost in the Shell or Rahxephon are great choices)

I find scientific ways to qualify the reasons for being depressed. "Speciation event" always sounds a lot classier than "dateless loser".

Depends on my responsibilities on the next day; I'll either spend my time online, or drinking. Using alcohol as a treatment for shitty days is not exactly smart, but at least...I'm sure there's something

EDIT: It appears I have posted in the wrong topic by accident. Sorry!

Umm, when I'm sad, I... ummm... [small]crap, I've got nothing...[/small]

Er, turn on my Jango station, I guess?

Makes me happy.

Listening to more depressing music actually helps quite a bit. I don't know how it works, but it always makes me feel better, especially since the last thing I want to hear in a bad mood is uppity music.

I do the exact same thing from time to time. It makes me feel epic!
