What Do You Do While Sniping?

I am constantly looking around the map, checking the sight lines, and looking for other snipers/threats. I generally stay unzoomed unless I need to sight in on a target, as wide and far is better than narrow and focused for spotting enemy targets. In games that allow spotting, I'm constantly doing that, and running motion sensors/MAVs depending on what I have on me to get an idea where the bad guys are. Otherwise I am calling out threats, enemy movements, and keeping my team mates up to date what's going on via voice chat.

When I do finally take the shot, I do it as quick and Zen like as I can, as the longer you hold your breath the more likely you are to mess the shot up. The target is also more likely to see the scope glint, and shoot back the longer you wait too. Headshots are nice, but sometimes you have to center mass snap shot as quickly as you can if the target is moving, or you will lose the shot. Once I've whacked a few targets, and the bad guys know where I'm at, its time to move and setup another sight line.

TL;DR: I am doing my job.

Edit: On clarity, apparently map awareness and spotting's this rare thing for most recon players out there, so that qualifies as "odd". Sad but true. For more weird sniper stuff, I come up with snappy Australian style sniper insults every time I whack another sniper.

Usually to begin with I'm thinking about the next position to move too. Either that or constantly scanning for chaps trying to flank me.

I tend to hold my breath and have a poker face on the entire time :| when I snipe in TF2 , also somewhat related, when I play boomer on L4D2 vs I tend to puff up my cheeks for some reason (every single time), only when I die do I realise I had them puffed up and let them go.. :/

I generally miss a lot, get frustrated and use something with a more medium range focus like something with a red dot sight or a shotgun!

I tend to talk to myself at my enemies, saying things like "Oh just pop your damn head up already, we both know what's going to happen..."

Or if I'm on Skype with a friend, relaying information w/ them.

EDIT: My actual playstyle? Get an iron-sights bolt action or semi-auto, play the objectives. In CoD, I just have fun countersniping, because people are NOT stealthy. In Red Orchestra 2, I tend to tackle the long range enemies while my friend uses a SMG to hose the guys who get past me. We're a damn good team on a good day. Though let me tell you, NEVER MOCK THE ENEMY ARTILLERY.

I don't play Sniper in online games, which tend to make me comptetitive and aggressive, but when playing SP games like Sniper Elit, I start talking to myself. I mean, more than I usually do. Specifically, I talk about how I've caught the target like prey. Then there's the short second or two of silence and breathing out as I actually take the shot.
