Hello fellow Escapists! I don't often show it here, but I've got a bit of a passion for modes of transportation of all sorts. I like learning about cars, motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, ice skates, skis, sleds, and more. Anything we've made to make ourselves move faster than our meaty legs can carry us is in the very least passingly interesting to me.

My greatest knowledge is in cars though, because that's what I drive.

I drive a 2003 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS sedan. This is the comparatively rare and comparatively less fun version of one of the earliest American releases of the Subaru WRX. It's a stick shift, my first standard and it's still fun to drive because it's the same chassis as the WRX, just a different engine. I can whip it around corners at speeds I probably shouldn't, but it's just too much fun and feels so in control.

So, what do you drive?

2005 Grand Prix.

For being a only a 2005, she has only a few years left in her at most. At over 200k miles, she's a ticking time bomb. I'll miss it when she goes. She can hold six CDs, has ass-warmers, and leather seats. What's not to like?

2009 Nissan Sentra. It's nice, I like it a lot. It only has around 40k miles which is few for a 5 year old car, but it's been very reliable and has stood up well in the couple of accidents I had (neither my fault, mind). It's made my parents decide when they're in a position to replace their 2002 Chrysler Concorde, they're going to go with a Nissan Altima.

2002 Ford Taurus SEL. It's a decent car that has always had issues with the power steering. It's sitting at around 90,000 now with minimal rust, so hopefully it'll stay with us for a few more years.

My family also has a 2010 Odyssey. Great vehicle since you can remove the second row of seats and fold down the third making a considerable cargo area. Lots of features on it as well.

My favourite car is ironically likely the worst car we've ever owned; a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. Very unreliable with many electrical faults and serious build quality issues. However, it's a supercharged that has since been modified to pump out 300 hp, meaning she can really kick up on the freeway. It's also the most attractive vehicle I've ever seen. I will note that she's half an inch longer than our Odyssey.

2014 Jetta SE, so I get some extra torque and can say that I have a turbo, even though it pumps out the same horse power as the old engine. It turns better than what the rest of my family owns and will get me too and from campus with a decent MPG, so it makes me happy.

2012 BMW 1 Series Coupé. All hail our future German Overlords as they make absolutely lovely driver's cars for those moments when you realise you're approaching a roundabout just a little bit too fast, it doesn't matter, as the handling and grip will carry you through. Goes like poop off a shovel too. Love him.

Its absolutely stunning. Its in really good condition. Im guessing it takes a lot of work to keep it running?

Edit: as far as im aware these are pretty sought after amongst the drift scene. Excellent cars by todays standards not as powerful as some family cars but the styling and just sheer awesomeness is timeless

I drive a Honda Shadow VT 1100c motorcycle. She's my baby, and I never want to lose her. You just can't experience that wind against you, that manoeuvrability and that feeling of turning the gas and having to hold on to the handle bars or being thrown backwards otherwise in a car.

(couldn't find the photo I made of it, but this is the general idea)

Other than that I can sometimes borrow my mother's car, a Mitsubishi Carisma.

1993 Jeep Wrangler, YJ, 4 cylinder, stick shift. Around 208,000 miles. Probably has another 150,000 miles in it before it goes belly up, but who knows. Just replaced the fuel pump.
It's my first vehicle, even only paid $2800 for it(that's really really cheap for a Wrangler), the seats might be torn up but it puts the rest of the family vehicles to shame.

I drive a little red chevy Blazer, like this:

*not my actual car

Her name is Ruby and she is my baby, though recently she's been through a few rough patches, with a big dent in her passenger-side front door and an accident where one of her eyes was punched in by a lady in a RAV4. has headlight replacements, but still needs a front bumper, grille, and door to be cosmetically pristine again.

'93 Chevy Blazer, red. I expect the engine to just rust out. My dad bought it a year and a half ago, and since I just got my license (21) he gave it to me half a month ago because he whips a Pacifica now.

There's oil build-up really bad, just went in to have it changed and flushed, and the dipstick was almost caught by the crankshaft. Not only that but the A/C compressor seized/somethinged and I have to buy a bypass pulley and a shorter serpentine belt. My dad works at GM and makes good money but he won't do shit for me.

I drive a 2010 Renault Megane Coupé 1.9DCi, it did come with 130bhp from the factory but it's currently putting out 163bhp. The current power goal is 200bhp but need a couple of supporting mods first (e.g. better tyres (soon, already got the alloys for it), better brakes (done), remove a few restricting intake pipes, etc.).

The best pic of her.

On the dyno after being remapped, 163bhp while being able to do 60mpg ain't bad at all.
