Lack of any intellectual, artistic curiosity, or drive to accomplish something you're invested in (with all your heart). People who abuse their bodies: smokers, drug users, alcoholics, and individuals who are obese or terribly underweight due to an eating disorder (naturally fast burning metabolism is okay, even if you're thinner than most people you're still healthy).

Though I'm very "intellectual" (not a good word to describe me, but I'm too tired at the moment to think clearly) I don't mind people who are goofy or nerdy... as long as you have a passion in life and or a focus with goals and priorities.

Note: I've found myself attracted to guys who violate one or two of the above "deal breakers" but it was usually because they were hard working, curious and open minded about life/the world, and they were quite charming to boot.

-Too much make-up
-Chewing with mouth open (it's a pet peeve and it makes my blood boil)
-Too skinny or too obese (on the basis that they probably come with some mental self image problems which I don't want to have to deal with)
-Not too big on crack addicts
-Unemployed with no work ethic (fine being in-between jobs, but I can't deal with lazy people who would expect pocket money from me all the time - I want a partner, not a prostitute)
-Those who will not speak 'proper' (for example, 'Is it?' when responding to ANYTHING, unnecessary 'likes' here, there or anywhere and just an inability to speak like an adult)

The most profound turn off for me is stupidity. I don't expect a straight A student or someone in a high flying job, but when you're sat at the table sharing a romantic meal or with friends and a conversation strikes up I expect some idea to be going around in her head. Even if she doesn't know what we're talking about, the honesty to speak up and say so and learn is pretty attractive. As long as she can catch up - then she's good. I like the idea that over time, you can learn off one another too.

Like many who have posted on this thread, I would definitely be put off by smoking and an excess of tattoos or piercings. I am also put off if they are the kind of people who think games are 'horrible spawns of satan forged from the 9th circle of hell designed to corrupt our children with blood and gore and nudity' etc etc.

Chest hair so thick you could use it as a doormat and wipe your feet on it.

Veet.
Wax.
Shave.

ANYTHING!

For me, serious turn offs include blonde hair (sometimes there are exceptions, but in general I really don't like blondes), tattoos, religion (I could never date a religious girl, I just wouldn't be able to have any respect for her), and certain piercings. I don't mind most piercings, and a nose ring or a ring in the lower lip I find downright sexy, but for some reason any piercings around the top lip or cheek really really turn me off.

EDIT: Also, as others have said, extremes of weight - either way too big or way too skinny. And body hair - I don't like hairy women at all.

I don't mind a bit chubby, but anymore and I can't take it. Tonnes of piercings too, earrings are fine, nipple piercings actually turn me on, and I can stand a nose, eyebrow or lip, but having them all over the place in just wrong. Also it sounds picky but large facial marks like noticeable freckles and moles I don't like, small ones are fine, but bigger ones I find unattractive.

I think I'll join about 90% of this thread and say smoking right off the bat. I find it very difficult being around people who smell like smoke.

Others on my list would be:
Makeup- basically my theory on this is that if you can actually notice the makeup they're wearing too much.
Stupidity- sounds kind of harsh, but I can't think of a better word at the moment. I don't care whether or not they're good at math or science, but they need to be able to think about things intelligently or I'm not at all attracted.
Acting slutty- Once again, not the best word. Not so much of a turn-off as something that fails to turn me on. Someone trying to act seductively, or doing stuff along the lines of strip teases, and flashing really does nothing for me.

There's others but those are really the big ones.

Girls who: smoke, curse, and/or have tattoos.
I would disagree with the last one, a good tattoo in the right place can be very attractive in my opinion. They have to have t attitude to go with the tat though.

Something that i find unattractive is people who spout opinions without any real knowledge of the subject they are talking about...

Arrogance, or just a complete inability to discuss things properly and calmly. I had a fling with a girl who was, and still is, completely unable to see anyone else's side in an argument. She's always right, that is. Punchline is that she wants to become a diplomat.

Big turnoff.

Also,
Tattoos, ridiculous tan, platinum blonde hair, some certain styles. (as in clothing and makeup)

Most of these things occur in the same persons, I suppose. Although I guess arrogance can be found anywhere.

I dont know, I just suppose Im really attracted to down-to-earth girls, with a great sense of humor. Not too original, but there you have it.

Hey, by the way,
Does anyone else find a fringe and bangs on a girl incredibly attractive?

Smoking a big one for me too.

Also girls who can't express themselves, who have trouble getting a point across/fumble with words.
Fumbling words is so cute! ^^

OT: Poorly looked after feet. Dirty or cracked or... God. Ew.

Body weight actually has nothing at all to do with health and general fitness. I am the perfect weight for my height, says my doctor, but I'm terribly unhealthy and get winded running down my street. My mother, on the other hand, is ex-military (so too is my father) and although she is now just on the obese 'line', she is amazingly fit and possibly the healthiest person I know.

Also, a mental disorder is a turn off to you? Not being a turn on is one thing (if it turned you on I'd be a little worried, actually) but writing someone off for a condition that is curabel and no fault of their own? That's a shame.

There are some things that turn me off pretty fast:

- Being dumb and arrogant
I had a date with a guy once who bragged on about how minor everyone around him is, yet I had to leave out some details of my stories so that they wouldn't get too complex for him

- Lack of empathy
I don't mind some evil jokes or sarcasm (in fact that's a big plus). Sometimes my partner should realize that I need him in serious mode, though.

- Long hair
Yeah, that's a superficial one. It's limited to my potential love interest, though.

When the second toe is bigger than the first one. For some reason I can't stand that.
Also, knees.
