I think someone's mentioned it, but when was the last time we actually saw a video game character sit down and actually eat a square meal?! Even when they do actually eat, they're always interrupted by either someone attacking them, some shit that takes place outside their front door or some other contrived reason... So: eat, after hours of being positively famished... and all that running around would hardly help, I'd imagine.
