i am new to this forum, please bear with me. the march mayham2010 appointed zynga and this appointment brought many new people - as well as me - to the escapist. while i do see a lot of dismay about those zynga game users, i was wondering, are here some people (now) who deeply enjoy FARMVILLE?

please say, why you love farmville and ***refrain**** from posting *ADD ME AS A NEIGHBOUR*

i am playing for almost a year now.

i love the fact that animals arent just decoration as in some other farm games, and that from day one animals would produce food. the animals are espechially cute and there is no harm done to them in the process of having and harvesting them

i love the variety and dedication of trees as well. at max magnification you can see each cherry or other fruit on the very colorful, softly drawn trees.

the animal adoption thing is very cute too. note how the animals look sad before and smile after an adoption?

well, so what does the thing for you on FV

I love mastering plants. I am about halfway through mastering all of them at the 3-star level. I also am a sucker for trying to finish the ribbons. When I have mastered everything and finished the ribbons, I will consider myself as having beat the game (until, of course, they come out with more seeds =) ).

Ok I'll bite. I like that you can be very casual about it. ie Planting crops that take 2-3 days to grow. I think there's even a 4 day crop but I could be wrong. Or, on the other side, you can plant 2-4 hour crops and spend your day working the farm.

I also like the buildings, simply because the animals seem to be a bandwidth slayer. Being able to shove those extra animals in a building is super plus.

I have no idea what it is. I heard about it that i can play it when i get a myspace... or facebook? or whatever account (which i don't have). And i am pretty sure it is a boring grinder with no satisfaction whatsoever, just pure addiction-value like those "free-to-play" browser games which somehow make money enough to do advertisement.

DAMN this new gaming culture. God i feel old.

It seems that Farmville's surprisingly popular at the Escapist.

And it's no wonder why, it's awesome!:Edit: But OT, while I've never gotten into it, I have a large amount of friends that adore it. I think gives the user a good sense of satisfaction over time, which keeps them hooked.

Well, for as much as I dislike it, I have to give it credit on one thing.

It stopped my parents bashing of video games. Whenever they would tell me to stop playing so much games I would come back with "What about that 4 hours you spent on Farmville?"

So yeah, it helps people accept video games, and not complain about them as much, and they keep my parents out of my hair. Which is nice.

Pretty much this, only replace "parents" with "people in general." It's nice being able to say "I may have just played Assassin's Creed 2 for three hours, but you spent nine hours today plowing, sowing, watering, and harvesting crops. Which do you think is worse?"

I hate the way it's covered my Facebook page to the point where I've had to add a facebook script to block any pointless updates getting to my homepage that I don't care about. (Edit: Not just Farmville, that was just the majority of the crap I got.)

I like the way I can use it against people who say gaming is a sad hobby, the same people who play Farmville say I'm sad for playing CSS/TF2/CoH.

Well, as far as rewarding, yes it is. If you play it you understand. Because instead of spending hours on a mission or a few days for the next highest level you pretty much get rewarded every time you play. Either from your friends giving you gifts, to helping a friend through a notification or like someone above said about ribbons and stuff. All of that happens at a much faster pace than most games. Which, in my opinion, is probably one of the reasons it's so successful.

Or you could just go into your Facebook options and stop allowing the application.

I TOTALLY LOVE FARMVILLE!!!
MY FARM IS SO AWESUM, I HAVE LIKE 15 COWS, AND 3 SPECIAL STATUES!!1
LIKE, ADD ME AS A NEIGHBOUR!!!!! ;)
XD
AMGZ, YOU TOO?!

I FCKIN LUV FARMIN.

Seriously, Farmville is crap.

EDIT: I guess I have to backup my opinion:

It's boring, scam-filled and monotonous. It's not really a game is it? If you want to farm, go and get a job at a farm. I much prefer the management of a whole town. I'd like to see Farmville players playing a game of "Zeus: Master of Olympus" and be given something more than just a farm (yes, there are farms in Zeus, for all you diehard farmers). Honestly, can someone who plays Farmville give Zeus a try and tell me what they thought of it.

It's not just Farmville, that was just the ending push.
