Groningen. It's known for winning best inner city in Holland several years running. I like the fact that the people are nice, it's far away from my mother, there are very few assholes (those move to the bigger cities) and my dance group.

It's beautiful. Far away from cities or anything, just nature and some townhouses.

Where is that? It looks like something from an Elder Scrolls game! (Which is quite apt given your avatar and user title thingy.)
Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. :)

It does help that my friend is a quality photographer.

I wish it was the Elder Scrolls...

I live in a small rural town setting called Frederickson. It can be pretty boring because there isn't much to do but I like the peace and quiet every now and then.

Now that I think about it, everything that I would have said is actually in neighbouring towns. The people (at least in my age group) are mostly awful as well. So... nothing.

Nothing. The politicians are just shy of blatant corruption, the police are useless, the people are assholes, and crime is high.

I love having 4 movie theaters within city limits, two of which are within reasonable walking distance. I love... little else about Windsor, truth be told. This city blows.

It has pretty much everything I could ever want. An awesome MMA club, a classic rock radio station, good weather, a good grocery store, all the shops that I ever need to go to are close together.

Heh, it's funny because you assume everyone lives in a City/Town. :p

I live in pretty much the ass-end of nowhere, at the top of a small hill nestled in farmland. My nearest decent (that has a cinema, shopping mall etc) town, Shrewsbury, is about 15 miles away.

Where I live, we have some great views, a beautiful landscape, plenty of critters to shoot, and no noisy neighbors. The small towns in the surrounding area have a nice sense of community, some very very good pubs, and not a lot else. But that's the way I like it.
I said 'etc' damn it!
That you did, apologies for not seeing/ reading the rest of your title :)

Hamlyn Terrace. Nice suburb.

what i like about it? My school is roughly 500 meters away, thus i can wake up later than normal, and get home earlier. Also it means i can bring my friends over straight from school on days we finish early instead of them having to wait for the bus.

Train is 3 minutes away (by car)

All my friends live relatively close, meaning its absolutely no trouble to go there or for them to come here.

Beach about 15-25 minutes away

Major Shopping center about 15 minutes away, and a grocery store about a kilometer away.

And it gets pretty quiet around here when its not start or end of school (except now that they're building a house across the street its getting a bit noisy)

So yeah, i love this place.

Hello escapist!

Now, the question is the same as in the title.

What about your city do you like?

Name the city, tell us something it might be known for then explain one (or more) things you really like.
Colorado Springs, CO.

Known for being a military town, home to Cheyenne Mountain's NORAD and the Air Force Academy. Also known for Focus on the Family and Ted Arthur Haggard's gay-sex-methamphetamine scandal. :D

Why do I like it, though? Me, a liberal socialist-leaning bisexual male?

...because it's beautiful, and Manitou Springs is right next door. It's small enough to drive easily from one side of the city to another. It's close to Denver, where I have some very good friends. It's large enough to have all the amenities I like while being small enough to not feel like I'm living in the urban sprawl of, say, Phoenix or LA.

And the weather is basically perfect except it doesn't rain quite enough. But the crisp, clean mountain air is wonderful.

And they have an awesome brewery that home-brews beer AND serves vegan food. :)

I live in Bingley, an unremarkable town near Bradford, an unremarkable city. But that's near Leeds, which is a very important English city. The good thing about Bingley is that it's but a 20 minute train ride there, which I'm very grateful for. It is also next to some particularly beautiful moors, which are populated by a few golf courses and a cluster of little houses overlooking the valley. It's gorgeous in the sun.

A little west of the moors is also a tiny stream winding through sloped woodlands, which is a personal favourite local place of mine.

Where I live, we're miles from anywhere important, there are only about 150 inhabitants, about 80% are over 60 and anyone who isn't is either about 4 or a colossal chav. On to what I like about it: me and my friends know some good spots to camp and one of them has managed to fall into a bog/river on all 6 visits. It's called High Hurstwood.

I don't know. The fact that everyone carries knives? And it's the home of the military in England? (Aldershot btw).
