I actually preffer to simply listen to the music...
I mean, music videos can be awesome, but I preffer to hear my music and visualize it, instead of seeing it...

also, I like his wibbliness...

Do you sometimes find that a video is completely different to how you originally envisioned the song, and it permanently alters your perception of it?

It annoys me when that happens.

my envisioning of the song "plush" by the stone temple pilots was nothing like the music video (I went to a more naturalistic approach, since that's what I felt in the song), but no it didnt ruin it for me.
I just understood that sound is but one of our sensors, and the way music works and is reacted to can be different from person to person, meaning that my representation of what the song holds to be could very well be unique to me, something the original creator never thought of, and even intenteded. meaning that my experience from the song is created not entirely by producer, but also the reciever, that would be me...

even if what he saw would be different from what I would have seen, it's just another way to view it, expanding on the one I had up until that moment.

I agree. I firmly hold the view that all music can be interpreted in any way the listener wants to, and even its creator cannot absolutely decide what its meaning is.

the key word here is absolutely, since he sure has a say into what it means, but he cant control how people will view it, so yeah basically what you just said
