Honesty is good, an open mind, a sense of humour/the surreal/the ridiculous, and who actually has opinions and can debate them.

A heartbeat.
Jeez, you're really picky.

Almost all the women in the world don't have a heartbeat, and you're just going to write them off straight away?!

OT: A girl, my age, straight black hair and stays up with me until 1:18 AM on a school night, only going to bed because I suggest it. :D

Blunt spoken, sick sense of humour, voracious reader, not an ex-junkie and has less psych issues than I do (which still leaves a fuck of a lot of leeway). Also accepting of the fact I'll likely never have a job - I'm on a psych pension for a reason.

Sexy eyes and wicked smile a bonus.

I like dark skinned girls, like Latinas.... so hot. And a sense of humor is a must, I'm kind of a cocky guy and joke around alot and use sarcasm on a daily basis, and if she can run along that path of humor with me without getting upset or having me explain it to her every five seconds, then that's great. Those are usually the two biggest things, but there are so many other things that I would fill up the entire thread.

I don't really look for anything in a relationship. I know I'm right to be in one, so getting hopes up for something is a waste of time.

If I were to look for my ideal partner, she would be 5'11, slim, black hair, blue eyes, gothic style with a penchent for wearing fishnets and knee high boots. Musically she'd be ecclectic but mainly have a thing for metal. Honest and independant, she'd have aspirations in life, not "needing" anybody. A strong sense of morals.

Best part of that ep is Fem-Rimmer.
Best, or scariest??

And as for your "charger" being sent to the knackers lol...

Chivalrous means "courtesy to women" as well as
"1. The medieval system, principles, and customs of knighthood.
2. a. The qualities idealized by knighthood, such as bravery, courtesy, honor, and gallantry toward women.
b. A manifestation of any of these qualities."

I'm using it in reference to 2b, personally. No equine required!

Chivalrous, must love Star Trek and sci-fi in general, preferably my kinda crap taste in music, and who neither puts me on a pedestal nor takes me for granted.

The rest is negotiable.
Ah HA! So you admit your taste in music is bad! *Scribbles down on a piece of paper to remember* =3

OT:
Hmm, while not something I would normally think about, I would probably have to say that the person in question would need to share various common interests and personality traits.

While it doesn't sound like much, when read from the point of view that my mind takes when thinking about things, it makes a great deal of sense to me. o_O
Dear heart, what you just said is so vague it could be a horoscope lol! Most people want shared values and interests and personality traits in a relationship. Be more specific?

Although I hate to say it, if you're looking for a female you, I redirect your attention to Red Dwarf and their counterparts ;)

And as for writing that quote down? Yeah, right. I actually did write yours down, on the other hand... Still in my bag too :p
The detailed specifics are in my head, and I intend to keep it that way. ^.^

Will they be a good breeding pair and lifelong provider?
I want kids at some point, and I'm sorry, but romance takes a back seat to my children. I'll settle for the less-than-stellar lover as long as they'd be a good parent and a halfdecent husband.
Preferably an orphan, too; my mother keeps telling me she doesn't have to share her grandchildren with other grandparents.
Read "What French Women Know about Love, Sex and Other Matters of the Heart and Mind" (I think that's the extended title anyway) by Debra Ollivier. It makes some good points re husband v children.

I'm with you on that one actually, however vanille is not very bright and I would want someone who is intelligent, not totally aloof. Its the very high spirited, fun, overly nice and great body aspects that I would go for when talking about the "Vanille" personality.

When I was younger, it was primarily the physical attributes of the girl in question, provided she could put up with a reasonable percentage of my hobbies/quirks for a reasonable amount of time. I wasn't looking for long-term relationships, just a bit of fun, so to speak.

When I got older I tried the "opposites attract" thing, finding someone who actively shared a decent percentage of my hobbies, but who was very different from my on a psychological level. That was the only really long-term relationship that I've ever been in, lasting almost 6 years before the abrupt explosion that terminated it. Still significantly scarred from that one.

What am I looking for now? Good question. As always, someone who will share or at the very least tolerate my hobbies. Someone I can argue with, who won't take it personally. Someone who reads as much as I do, and preferably with a reasonable amount of overlap, so we have something to argue ABOUT. Someone who is as spontaneously emotional as myself, but at the same time as coldly logical. So the traits have moved back from the opposites, to more of a similar entity. Which might be a response to the wounding I took last time around, but I'm unsure.

Oh, that kind...

Mine's kind of damaged from 20 odd years of dating and no two women having the same idea on what constitutes acceptable behaviour. I think next girlfriend I get I'm going to have her list out the times she expects special treatment and the times she wants to be equal. OTOH, handing a woman a stack of forms to fill out is quite the mood killer and lessens the chances of getting a root.

The key factor I look for is friendship; if I can see myself hanging out with them all the time, sexually as well as not, then that would be a good match.
