Being able to coast through grade school with perfect marks and do nothing but play videogames all day.

Boy, I sure as hell was NOT prepared to grow up.

I miss being able to watch cartoons without being judged. Nowadays when I talk about how awesome the cartoons of my childhood were I get called weird by the "normal" people for still liking them.

If anything, the complete lack of responsibility, and the blissful ignorance of bills that needed to be paid.
Make that the blissful ignorance of everything. Not caring about anything but your next toy.
What I do not miss is the rage when that toy is taken away. If I see how my little brother gets angry coz of creepers in Minecraft (he doesn't ragequit though, sadly :D)

To be honest, I'm really happier as a college student. I'm living on my own and working three jobs, but it's exciting being free. The hours, the schedule, all of it's yours to make, and I know it sounds cliched, but I believe I'm only limited by my abilities and choices. Where I go from here's up to me.

Childhood was more constrained in that regard, but the bills man. I miss not having to pay those as a kid.

I guess I also miss not really having money. I could pine after things, but now I make just enough as a waiter and a TA to cover living expenses (D.C's really expensive), but I always have a big pile of cash with me. I can't spend it, and I know that, but it's so. very. tempting...

urm... ability to feel not awkward around people that i haven't known for years and ability to not expect that when a good looking woman talks to me that they are either doing it for S**ts and giggles or just because they really need some information to be grumbled... and thats what i missed at 14...

well here's something I copy pasted from the chip and dales rescue rangers intro comments:

Lollipops turn into cigarettes. The innocent ones turn into sluts. Soda becomes vodka. Bikes become cars. Kissing turns into sex. Remember when getting high meant swinging on the playground? When protection meant wearing a helmet? When the only drug you knew was cough medicine, and wearing a skirt didn't make you a slut? The most pain you felt was when you skinned your knees, and goodbyes only lasted until tomorrow. And we couldn't wait to grow up.

I miss being a kid because I didn't have to worry that much about death or school or appearances or anything like that and if I ever needed help it seemed like parents could fix anything for you.

sounds like me at 14... wake up,2,3 go to school,3,4...play Xbox,4,5go to sleep,5,6... repeat

but the worst was school not in lessons, i would sit there with a couple of friends talking, then i would go home and talk with another fiend on the way, he being the only other person who knew my best kept secret(i think you get what i mean here), then i would go home, drown myself in viseogames and try to sleep, all while trying to get her out of my head because i knew i didn't have a chance... well, unless i was, like, friendlier... which was COMPLETLY IMPOSSIBLE(seeing as how i was a grumpy old guy, most mature 14-year old and v=nervousness just made me worse, to the point of giving her an answer to a really easy question became a short mumble while looking around the room before complete silence for as long as possible before being forced to answer a question from somebody else)

Nap time! Believe it or not, I loved nap time. And watching cartoons until I felt my eyes dry up like raisins. And all that free time...

Jesus Christ, where do you live? As for me I miss enjoying every shitty movie/TV show regardless of it's quality. I mean I could actually sit down and enjoy the Batman and Robin movie.
Venezuela, I tried to move to Canada like my brother, but it didn't worked out.

I miss the days when I was ignorant to how the world really worked. Everything was so simple, with black-and-white morality...

*SIGH*
