What do you plan to do over the summer?

I'd reckon we're a fairly young community, a few productive members of society here and there, but largely good-for-nut'n lazy college/uni students with a sprinkling of people still stuck in school, and as such, we'll have a break from our academic pursuits for the summer...which if like me, you have a problem with having nothing to work towards, is a damn long time.

So, what are you doing over the summer? Going anywhere? Any big projects? Maybe you managed to blackmail somebody into giving you a job?

As for me, I haven't found a summer job, and my home town has degenerated into a place that only caters to old aged people and chavs...the solution would be obvious.

I'm going to launch into space and watch a load of crappy movies with a couple of robots.

My birthday is next month so there will be good stuff with that.

You've got the demographic down pretty well. I'm going to be working the whole summer though as I have a 12-month industrial placement as part of my degree.

Asides from that, probably a lot of running, maybe a camping trip, and I might start making a few apps for Android.

Well quite a few things! Hang out with my friends, go to Thorpe Park, spend time with my boyfriend, go to my university graduation ceremony then celebrate my 21st birthday the day after. Find a place for my boyfriend to move into, find a job, spend time with my boyfriend and have a great summer.

Well, a week on Friday is my last exam. After that, there will be 3 months of general screwing around, with a bit of work thrown in, although probably not a whole lot since I'm easily bored and I get to choose when to work.

I have a camping trip to Wales planned, and there's my Leaver's service, but no lengthy projects or anything like that. I'd like to take a trip to the beach or maybe a theme park, but my friends don't have much money so there won't be that much stuff happening beyond gaming with friends.

Chill out, do some work for my mom, and play all the JRPGs I have stacked up. That means plowing through FFIV, FFVI, FFX, Chrono Trigger, The World Ends With You, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, Tales of the Abyss, and finishing Tales of Symphonia.
I'm also planning on finally getting my band together. I've got a lead guitarist, I'm gonna cover bass/rhythm guitar, and a friend of mine is going to be my student in the art of percussion (she's been meaning to learn, and I have a drumkit).
So yeah. My Summer is kinda busy.
Other than that, I'll keep working towards my black belt and try do to more DIY stuff.

2 weeks of pure vacation. 1 of them will be spent in my girlfriends parents house. They leave the country so my girlfriend and I will just have funtimes deluxe right there.

Then I will have to study a bit, i failed at least one final this semester, so re-exams in early august.

Going to buy and learn to play the Banjo. After years of hovering around the bottom third of "Musical Instruments to get chicks with" by playing the Tuba and Trombone I decided I'd commit dating suicide.

I'll also get drunk a lot.

I've just qualified as an English teacher and got a job lined up in Surrey.
I've gotta find and rent a flat there over the summer and spend the rest of it with my girlfriend and mates in Cardiff before I move away and become extremely lonely.

This sounds pretty depressing but I'm pretty damn excited to be getting my own place and starting my career.

Also, if any Escapists live in/near Surrey, let me know and we can hang!
