A hat in time is a game I've been looking forward to for a few years now, and it's finally going to come out at some point this year. If you're into 3D platformers, check it out.

It will be any overhype overrated game like mass effect andromeda or red dead redemption 2.

but True GOTY will be PREY. the only game remind me of system shock after 1999 with mix of Half life and dishonored too.

Safest pick I can think of is probably Red Dead: Redemption 2, but I really hope the title is just a placeholder.

I can't really predict it, and I doubt there will be one. Most of the games I play nowadays were released long before I got round to playing them. But, hypothetically, looking at the games releasing in 2017, assuming I bought them AND played them in the same year, my guess would be one of the following:

-Resident Evil 7
-Halo Wars 2
-Horizon: Zero Dawn
-The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
-Mass Effect: Andromeda

Even better would be to have an ultimate ace squadron showdown: Razgriz of Osea vs. Yellow of Erusea.
Didn't Razgriz never take to the skies again or something?

But what about the rest of you? What do you expect to enjoy most out of the crop of new games coming out this year?[/quote]

I'm probably having too much fun with Until Dawn at the moment, but I have very high hopes for South Park: The Fractured but Whole.

EDIT: Dang. Just realized that Until Dawn came out some time ago, and I only thought of it as a 2017 title because that's when I bought it. Right. Fractured but Whole it is, then!

I honestly don't see much in 2017 that I'm looking forward to. Nier Automata looks pretty neat so I'm crossing my fingers it turns out good and runs well on my PC.

Honestly, I picked up Divinity Original Sin during the last winter sale and I'm hoping to find the time to sink dozens of hours into that. I think it's silly to predict my GOTY (or pick a GOTY at all) without having played it yet but I'm anticipating really nejoying Divinity. Just want to clear out my backlog a little first. I'm actually really enjoying Shantae and the Pirates Curse right now. Just charming and simple fun.

It's between Divinity Original Sin 2 and Breath of the Wild as far as I am concerned.

If Bannerlord is released this year (HAHAHAHAHAH!), then it'll win it by far.

Yandere Simulator. Borderlands "3" (very unlikely to come out this year, but meh).

I'm actually just joking. I've no idea. I'm not in any rush to play 2017 games anyhow. Possibly Tekken 7 because that one I'm actually looking forward to.

I have no idea. Last year my goty was Riff Racer, an indie game made by a team of 5-10 people that I had never heard of in my life but bought anyways because it was on discount and I was looking for a racing game at the time.
Riff Racer was a pleasant surprise for me as well. It's so simple and is a great game for chilling out and listening to your music.

Probably Necromunda, it could just be a mordheim reskin and i'd still enjoy it.

*looks at others answers*

Hum Cyberpunk 2077 would be a strong contender too.
Wait... Yandere simulator is actually coming out this year? Guess that would probably win game of the year, game of the decade and game of the century to boot, at least until Waifu simulator comes out.

I wish ace combat 7 will be my GOTY, there's nothing else quite like it and I've missed it. Hopefully it'll be long too, 20+ missions.

There's a lot of unknown about what will come out this year, like was said before, mount and blade 2 might come out, maybe, who knows?

Off the top of my head, I'm guessing my GotY will be Ni-Oh. I've put more time in its demos than most other full games I've played last year. Either that or Red Dead Redemption 2 if it'll be anything like the first.

Well the sequel to my favourite game of all time is supposed to be coming out, so I'm gonna take a wild guess and say Mount and Blade Bannerlord will be my GOTY.

Kingdom Come looks pretty neat too. To be honest, I haven't looked at what's coming out all that much. I try to avoid hype and get pleasantly surprised.

Ya, I'm probably being a tad too optimistic about that.

If Red Dead were coming to pc this year that'd be a shoe-in. As it stands though it might very well be RE7. I'll know in a few hours after it unlocks just how realistic that is but if the demo is any indication, it has a serious chance in the running.

Some indie game that gets forgotten until awards season.

What? It's what happened in both 2015 (Undertale) and 2016 (Hyper Light Drifter). There's been nothing to suggest this year will be any different.

With any luck, something no one here mentioned.

I always enjoy years with surprises more than "this franchise they pour dozens of millions of dollars into"

Given how rubbery game release schedules are, there is no way of knowing with any certainty what will or will not release this year until it does.
