You do have quite a lot of rules stating "No pooftahs".

Hum, in addition to what has been mentioned..

My country imported one of your tasmanian humpbacks to become a princess and our future queen.
She lost her Aussie accent. We're all ashamed.

On the Simpsons they showed water flows the other way down a sink in Australia. Also I think 90% of the population is called Bruce and the other 10% Shiela. Kangaroo's called Skippy help people out when little Bruce has fallen down a well. Dingo's hunt in packs at creches and people have nicknames like Crocodile Dundee.

Debate about whether it being a country or a continent has/had been going on for a while.

Screw being American
Please tell me you're deliberately poking fun at perceptions of the geographical ignorance of Americans. Please.
Well since you asked so nicely, yes I was. Stereotypically Americans know nothing about the outside world.

I know like 4 things about Australia
1. The Sydney Opera House is there(probably)
2. It is kind of big
3. Umm, boomerangs come from there(but always go back)?
4. The didgeridoo originates from there.
edit remembered a fifth point
5. kangaroos and koalas are there.

I lived in Sydney for 6 months and I can say without a doubt - it's a great city to visit, but a shitty city to live in. My fun fact is that Australians agree with me and Sydney was voted worst city to live in in a recent poll.

Beyond that I have been to Melbourne (love it), Canberra (hate it), Adelaide (love it), Cairns (hate it), Exmouth (nice), Perth (nice) and Tasmania (nice). And how many Australians can say they've done that? Despite my experiences living in Sydney I love Australia. Go the ANZACs and all those good Aussie films. And that, my friend, is going straight in the pool room.

Final fun fact - In Australia Burger King is called Hungry Jack's. I hate fast food but it's interesting none the less.

I know its full of Australians who are cheating under-arm bowling dicks.

We will never forget 1981.

I have to admit though, that did make me laugh. In a "wtf is this guy doing out of jail" way.

Australia is the country most similar to the U.S. in terms of culture.
If you said that in most any Pub, you'd get either a torrent of abuse or an arse kicking...

that everyone rides kangaroos and hunt wombats with bowie knives. Nothing much except that the capital is Sydney and Melbourne is a Major city.
