Murpy.

What, who did you think I was talking about?

The guys behind Phineas and Ferb, Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, are at it again with a new show. The show stars 7th grader Milo Murphy(Voiced by Weird Al), a decedent of THE Murphy, Edward A. Murphy Jr. Sadly it seems The Law is genetic as Milo himself seems to have the worst luck though he seems to be rather accepting of this fate and even prepares all sorts of items to help him out stored in his backpack.

For those of you somehow not knowledgeable in the Law; "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong". One could also chalk it up to just bad luck or randomness but in Milo's case it's true. Everything around him tends to go wrong, at varying levels of insanity, so much that he's just taken this as a part of life now.

Joining in him are Zack Underwood(Voice Mekai Curtis), Milo's newest friend and tends to be the audience surrogate as he is contently dragged into problems involved with Milo and is shocked at how much the universe just seems to dump on Milo; And Melissa Chase(Voice Sabrina Carpenter) A long time friend of Milo who seems to be more used to the events around Milo and still continues to be friends with him despite the danger.

Now the creators have mentioned two key points. First, there's supposed to be an actual Story Arc. Currently there isn't as they seem to be setting up the world and just how The Law seems to work, so it's in the same vein as Phineas and Ferb, each roughly 15 minute section deals with Milo having a new problem or event(School trip, project, football game, birthday) and the highjinks involved with having a living embodiment of bad luck around. The other key point is that the show is supposed to take place in the same Universe as Phineas and Ferb. Will we see a cross over or maybe Perry and Dr. Doofenshmirtz make a cameo in the background fighting.

And why yes I know this is a bit of info, but given the talk of some other cartoons around here, I wanted to get opinions on this. Another good cartoon out of Disney? More of the same? Eh/meh about the whole thing?

I absolutely loathed everything about Phineas and Ferb. It always felt so bland and unfunny. Even as a kid I think I would have hated it.

So ambivalent, I guess?

Looks cool, but I can't say much else because the video is blocked in my country.

I loved Phineas and Ferb, so I'm hoping this will be good too.

Kinda weird so many promising shows are being premiered lately. Perhaps we have another Animation Renaissance on our hands?

I saw a few episodes. Not exactly my cup of tea but it was probably the only good thing we had between terrible SpongeBob and Johnny Test till Adventure Time came in and saved everything. It reminds me of a watered down Calvin and Hobbes.

I admit I'm not much of a cartoon aficionado anymore. I was just spoiled by the golden age of the 90s. Gravity Falls was incredible, though, and adult swim is as good as ever.

PF seemed like it could be witty at times, but I could never get into shows that are basically the same thing every episode.

Tell me about it. I was born in '87. Grew up on Cartoon Cartoons. Plus every show I watch now is ending or is gonna end soon. And all the stuff they're bringing in is... meh. Only things worth watching now is Star vs The Forces of Evil and We Bare Bears. All I can hope is CN picks up Infinity Train.

And you're right, if you've seen one episode of P&F you have seen them all.

Lord, I hope so. CN seems to be making a career out of rejecting promising ideas, though. They've released a lot of great looking pilots. I just want to green light then all. They at least seem better then the actual run of content they have. And what happened to anime? They don't need an anime block for 20 year olds who can afford all of the dvd's. They need to have some stuff kids can get into.

Only anime I've seen on CN is on Toonami and even then it's late night. Then again theyd probably play only Pokemon and Yugioh despite there being more than 2 animes for kids.

I had no idea this was a milkshake/drink. That's kinda cool actually.

And to address Fox12 and Raiku, yes currently it's kinda in the same vein as the last cartoon they've done. Maybe it'll improve when the story gets rolling but who knows. I will say this, while Milo does have some music numbers they don't have a song every episode. Out of 10 shorts(5 Episodes, 2 parts) I think they've only had 2-3 songs. Besides the intro. So if you disliked the Songs bits before, they aren't as prevalent in Milo.

Oh thank heavens, for a moment I thought you were talking about this guy...

In all seriousness, never heard of it until now. I kind of lost faith in Disney XD after they axed the amazing Wander Over Yonder (seriously, that show deserved so much more). That said, I'm always down for some Weird Al, and the songs are pretty dang catchy;

Color me intrigued.

I never could grasp Johnny Tests rise to fame. It ticks all my trash cartoon boxes in a single episode. Kinda like that little boy fighting the alien cat-thingy. Forced "HAHA, look at this WIERD and WACKY situation - AND NOW LAUGH" and i really disliked the animation style.
On the other hand i loved everything about Phineas and Ferb, maybe i'm wierd.

About the time between Spongy and Adventure Time. There were: The Fairly Oddparents, Kim Possible, Samurai Jack, Danny Phantom, Avatar (now we can start the fight how much cartoon and how much anime it is), Ben 10, Invader Zim, Penguins of Madagascar, The Boondocks, MLP - just to name a few.
I'm geninuely asking: You really thought all of them were bad?

Also more teen/adult oriented: Family Guy, American Dad and Archer.

Most of those (like Samurai Jack, Danny Phantom, Kim Possible, Avatar, Invader Zim, The Boondocks) premiered more than half a decade before Adventure time. Others (Ben 10, Fairly Odd Parents, Penguins of Madagascar) became part of the problem. MLP was part of the renaissance that Adventure Time supposedly started. And I kinda do think the adult shows are bad, at least right now. I don't think the guys behind Archer even know what they're doing anymore.

Point is, there was quite a bit of time between Adventure Time and all the shows you mentioned, and that time was filled with mostly garbage like Johnny Test and Fanboy and Chumchum.

Hm, jeah when i check lists it's.. not that crazily filled up the brim with superb cartoons but i still has a few cool ones.
Avatar, Fosters Home for imaginary Friends, Kim Possible (started early but lasted until 2007) or What's with Andy?
But while i'm writing this i just realized it's probably alot diffrent for us people from Europe, because we also had some european cartoons in between - that may or may not have aired in the US.

Dragon Hunters, School of Vampires, A kind of magic (Flintstone with fairytale beings basically), Shaun the Sheep and obviously Wakfu. Speically France is suprisingly big in terms of comics/series in Europe.

Also im really sad that Filmore! got cancelled 2004. I really liked that show. Had a "Recess" feel to it. And i agree Fanboy & ChumChum is one of the dumbest things i've ever seen.

Liked S1+2, Never saw, liked but barely saw, liked, never saw, wasn't a fan of, diehard fan of Zim, never saw, didn't mind and couldn't get into MLP. I was mainly in HS when they all came out.

I miss Gravity Falls. Phineas and Ferb are actually the worst thing about Phineas and Ferb. All the supporting cast are way more colourful and interesting.

I've only seen Phineas and Ferb with dutch dub and I thought it was quite funny to watch and brilliant as a concept. Unfortunately the video in the OP is blocked here so I couldn't comment on that.

I was born in '89, so I know what you mean. Star vs. Forces of Evil and Loud House are about the only thing I watch modern cartoon related. Phineas and Ferb was now and then, but relied on the formula waaay too much. All the lampshade hanging will not make your show better. Milo looks too gimmicky with a formula that will wear thin by the end of its first season. It's too bad Wander is gone, that was my favorite current show.

CN I don't even bother with anymore, not even adult swim. Aside from Gumball, all they got is constant showings of the the despicable Teen Titans Go, Regular Show (I never liked nor cared for Mordecai or Rigby), and Adventure Time (I lost interest since the writers got their heads up their ass). Also, Princess Bubblegum became such a ***** that whatever episodes she was involved, I changed the damned channel. I haven't seen such a character become a huge jackass that quickly since Foster Home for Imaginary Friends. Ben 10 died when they made Omniverse, and that is all I have to say about that one. I heard they're trying to reboot the series, but I have next to no faith given Cartoon Network's recent output.
