What do you remember from school? (ie that sense of dread)

School to me seems like a distant memory right now, even tough I'm barely a few years out.

What is the one thing you remember school for? Your one big impression?

I remember the feeling of dread. The feeling of you sitting in a classroom, taking a test that you forgot to study for. That uneasy, vague feeling of pressure. I still have nightmares from time to time about it, altough I literally never really had a situation of forgetting about a test (atleast not too often ;D).

I also remember the excitement I had in kindergarden for school. I had this burning desire to succeed at a higher level. I wanted to go to school so badly, that excitement was broken after the third day or so. Strange how most kids want to get educated but the system takes away most of their passion after a brief time, eh?

I'm doing my AS levels and school's a mixture of mind numbing dullery and fun. But hey, you've got to take the good with the bad, plus hopefully I'll do ok and be able to go to Uni and put off serious working life for a while longer.

School was the best time of my life, I had the knowledge, I had the friends, I had not a care in the world, life was a movie, was just enjoying everything. Then College came along, I spent a year there failing in all my courses cos I didn't care about, courting my then-girlfriend, and flunking lessons to play air hockey, it was also a rather care free amazing time, even if I was seriously underperforming.

Now I'm out of college with just one A-Level, I've no partner, no job, no real knowledge, just my friends, my thoughts, and my knack for getting mega drunk.

I'm still loving it.

Don't date someone in your class. Because when it turns to shit, there is always the possibility that the teacher teams you up for an assignment.

I'm mid way between schools right now. Taking a gap year before uni. Though my time in high school/secondary school was a mixed bag. When I was doing my GCSEs hot damn art was the freaking scariest thing EVER. The teacher just put this fear into you. And it's freaking ART! Then I went to an American school and it was mostly sleep and relaxing. Rather enjoyable I have to say.

I miss being able to see all my friends every day of the week, basically. Now with jobs/lives/duties in the League of Landshark Shark Masters, we hardly have time to hang as much anymore.

School itself though? Yeah, eff that place. Eff it in the ay.

I remember going to school in Spain. I didn't speak the language, had no clue what was going on. I just sat there like an idiot but at least I passed german. Go me. There was one class I sat in for a year to this day I still don't know what the hell it was. Good times.. no wait..

I was in a French class with 3 people in the tiniest room you can imagine. 3 people! I didn't speak a word of French because my previous French teacher spent more time talking about divorcing her husband than teaching and never spoke French when addressing us. Man I felt like such an idiot...but learned it rather quickly from then on .

I'm still loving it.

I'm about to do my standard grade exams, school is good, i suppose. I find it really bad though how divided the years are, you don't speak to anyone outside your group really, and that if you do anything everyone will find out about it. Coming into school knowing you have to face people, i mean every single person's smirk, knowing about your immense stupidy, fuck-up etc. is seriously not fun.

I remember it. I don't miss it at all. No one there seemed to care, it wasn't fun. Well, like 2 classes were fun, but most of the classes sucked. The teachers/deans sucked. It was just all around not fun, and I'm glad I'm gone.

The only exceptions are my Freshman math class/teacher, Freshman Biology teacher, Junior science teacher, and Junior history teacher.

My math teacher was a fun guy who made learning and class fun. Always had a joke to tell. My Biology teacher had us watch House on a few occasions, and had us have some interesting debates every now and then. My junior science teacher was laid back and reasonable. She always listened to what we had to say and didn't treat us like morons (Lots of teachers did at my school). And my history teacher taught us stuff by having us role-play it in Civilization 4.

He taught us stuff using Civilization 4. It was the greatest time I ever had.
(It was the Warlords expansion if anyone wantet to know.)

Bottom line I guess is that I'm glad I'm gone, but I do miss the few awesome teachers I had.

What I most remember, eh? Well, definitely the all-nighters studying for exams, the awesome feeling of impressing the teachers and students, the general friendliness I got from everyone (I befriended the bullies early so I was protected), the awkwardness of showering with the gay guy after gym class (this isn't paranoia or prejudice, he would freaking stare! He was a cool guy though), but what I remember most was the snubbing I got from the female student body as a whole. Only 2 girls were ever attracted to me (maybe only one. I think L was flirting with me as vengeance because I was her ex's best friend) and I didn't even get close with the rest of them.

Eh... pretty good laugh. In my last year I had two 'study' classes a day(plus an extra one on two days of the week) so naturally I abused the flexitime we were given and just skived most of the time. The classes I did go to weren't too bad, probably on account of I was fairly stoned by the time I got there. Plenty giggles.

Not going to lie to you guys, I got made fun of and I was tormented. Then I moved and now I stick the middle finger to any person who came from my grade from that school.

I'm still in school(my senior year) and I feel nostalgic
For me at school all the best things happened.
-I met the most interesting people(some really eccentric, and smart teachers) that helped me become a nice, capable guy.
-I made a fuck load of friends; I befriended at least half of the people in my school.
-I had the most fun in my life during classes ("Genetic therapy kids, is what?" "When you clone yourself, and use that younger version to fulfil your pedofile urges.")
-I made some real friends, who stuck with me during my lowest lows, and helped me in life-threatening situations.
-I learned the most amazing things here.
-I learned to understand human nature, and how to discern what really goes one in one's head(how to figure out one's true intentions)
-I fell in love.

And the list could go on and on.

Well, I'm still in school so it's a little easier to remeber. But I suppose I'll remeber the panic of doing a test that I don't know the answer to. Staring at the answer, racking my brain trying to figure it out, constantly looking through other questions for a possible hint at what could be the answer and just peeking over at test-takers next to me.

Luckily this dosen't happen often. Just once every two or three weeks.

Glad I'm not the only one who knew this to such accuracy! I skipped on maths a lot, but Irish, oh god a line out of place and she'd know. She wouldn't even check, she'd know. terrifying...

College is a lot easier to guage, because no one checks anything!
