What Do You Think About The Enderman's Block Picking Up Ability Being Nerfed?

Honestly, I don't see why it has to be nerfed. I never ran across a problem with it, and it made the Enderman very unique. If users were so afraid of their homes being picked apart, they should've built their house in the ocean.

Having a block of your house taken while you're moving around the house would freak you out, yes. That's the point. Endermen are supposed to be scary as shit. And yes, with him taking apart your creations, that could get annoying, but far less annoying than a Creeper killing you while your back is turned while you're exploring far away from home so you lose all of your stuff.

So my question is this:

How do you guys feel?

Enderman taking a single block from your house every now and then = huge problem
Creeper blowing up your entire wall = fine
Notch needs to have his head examined

I didn't have a problem with them. I liked the idea of them being able to pick up blocks. My friend who built a house of dirt had a problem with them but he's learned not to build houses out of dirt blocks.

I never had a problem with them taking stuff apart. I do think that they should be rarer (which would also solve the problem) and more dangerous.

So they can pick blocks from your house ey? That explains why my house was missing some bits. Overall i agree with the whole "let them pick blocks, there supposed to be creepy and mysterious" like you said. If they remove it then...whats the point of having them?

*crafts iron armor and swords* Time to find where these endermen have stacked my stuff.

I thought that was a neat, unique feature for them. Notch, Leave them alone. I haven't actually run into them yet, but I'm looking forward to being creeped out by them.
Off-Topic: Does anyone else feel the little villages actual lend to the lonely atmosphere of Minecraft. Seriously, abandoned homes with no sign of were the previous inhabitants have gone. Creepy.

if they had some kind of limitation like only being able to move dirt or stone, then i don't mind them. just build your structures out of better materials. but if they can just pick up anything at all, then yeah, that could be really annoying since there would be no security or any means to forify and protect your structures.

I get why some people don't like it, but this ability really through a wrench into most people's play styles and (along with the hunger depletion) required players to be diligent and get out of the house when they'd normally turtle up. So I'm disappointed...
It also gave a tangible benefit to building traps and moats in Single player mode.

If you're really just there to make pretty things, Casual and Creative modes haven't gone anywhere.

Actually with the backlash towards a lot of these patches, I wonder if Notch should release a slider that lets people decide what feature they personally want to implement in the final game.

Even creepier, the abandoned minecart tunnels underground. Especially because they are all broken and ruined. Creepy.

Imagine playing with Lego's. Then a 'friend' comes along and carefully deconstructs what you just build (Enderman) or just kicks it over (Creeper).

Yeah, hence why I usually played on Peaceful mode. Don't fuck around with my virtual Lego's.

Yea but at least you don't have to rip apart the entire top half to put in the one block, once I missed a single block in my Aircraft Carrier Lego kit, many a rage was had that day, but in minecraft you just have to right click

I didn't know they even did that. I just thought they carried around watever block was nearby and put it back, although if you kill it you don't get the block back. I would like for that to happen at least. I still find enderman the most entertaining enemy in the game.

Hence my obsession over making underground lairs.Because no Endermen nor creepers will fuck with your stuff 40 layers below the surface surrounded thousands of blocks of rock, with enough torches to make New York City look like a dying ember, and a layer of lava between the walls of my lair and the rest of the rock around it.

You say overkill,I say safety.I would have coated the wall touching the lava with obsidian, but it would take too damn long to get the hundreds of blocks needed, never mind the logistics behind placing the block correctly and not flooding my sweet bachelor pad with lava.

depends on what notch means by nerf. if he's completely taking the ability away i'd wonder about that; as someone pointed out we already have creepers who'll happily blow your stuff full of holes. If they just do it less often or on a smaller scale that might not be so bad.
