Half of the forest I live in has single blocks missing out of the trunks of trees and it just looks really dumb. Aside from that I don't have an issue with them picking up a block.
I don't like what they do to the landscape. What about making them only able to affect player laid blocks? Still can put holes in your wall but no more floaty trees.
The only thing I want changed is what they can pick up. I think they shouldn't be able to take bedrock (for obvious reasons) and natural log (because it makes the landscape look ugly). Aside from that, they need a bit of a damage buff, but they're alright. Also, make them scream, that open-jaw animation is begging for it.
