since Furry Fandom has become more mainstream and more accepting i was curious on what you guys think about the Fandom if you are unaware of the Fandom well here you go

Furry fandom is a fandom for fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. Examples of anthropomorphic attributes include exhibiting human intelligence and facial expressions, the ability to speak, walk on two legs, and wear clothes. Furry fandom is also used to refer to the community of people who gather on the Internet and at conventions.

While the fandom is diverse and spread out over several different sections and groups, the basic definition of a furry is someone who enjoys to draw, look at, or role-play as non-human creatures with human characteristics, commonly animals.

These are referred to as Anthropomorphic creatures, and run the gambit of types, from catgirls to popular cartoon characters, and some even consider alien races like Twi'leks as furry since they are non-human. The most famous examples of furries in mainstream media are Disney's Robin Hood animated feature and the Star Fox games by Nintendo.

Most furries wear Fursuits at the conventions but other furs just enjoy the art that the Fandom has. i am a Furry, i LOVE the artwork but i think the fursuits look scary

<---- Scared of Eyes

i think the artistic style is very awesome and i applaud artists that can Draw.

Some furries use a Fursona

A fursona itself consists of a name (usually fictitious) and a species, as well as any distinctive colors, markings or body features. An artist's typical commission is a rendition of a fursona.

So i hoped i provided a good understanding of the Fandom of course its a BIG fandom.

So Escapist thoughts on the Furry Fandom???

Different people have different tastes. Just don't force them into my face and I'm fine.
Though I try to steer clear of the more "explicit" and "unusual" members of the fandom.

It weirds me out a bit, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Just don't sexualise my childhood cartoons and we'll get along juuuuuuuust fine.

Whatever floats your boat, as long as it isn't harming anyone, I have no right to judge you.

But I have to confess that I find it all a bit strange. But that is probably because I never encountered it outside of the internet.

I don't think about them, not actively, but when I do... it's a touch frightening, just a touch.
That and the generic "anime" art usually irritates me.

Live and let live I say. One of my best friends is a furry, makes no difference to me. Just don't go showing me that stuff, I'm not interested, and it doesn't do anything for me :p

If that's what they're into, and they're not harming anybody, it's their business.

I only really begin to have an issue if people (or animals) are being harmed as a result.

Borderline creepy but entirely harmless.

Just so long as they stay away from my cat.

I guess I'm a furry... but I draw the line at sexual acts. Really, some people ruin it for everyone else...

EDIT: And that also involves some of my...uh...other...interests...

I like cartoon animals as much as the next person, but furries tend to dramatize/sexualize everything like crazy.

Hell, DeviantART is flooded with intensely scowling, barely contained sexually explosive wolfmen. It's getting a bit fucking obnoxious.

I understand most of them quite well. There are many animals with admirable attributes, some of which are heavily contrasted by one or another shortcoming for humans. I find the fantasy of combining aspects of multiple species neither weird nor in any way abhorrent.

The sexual fantasies held by some in that category are understandable as well, it is part of the way we're wired to have such fantasies about those we feel a strong connection to. Redirecting said fantasies towards fictional characters is a bit unusual, but it is not not really any of my business either way

For me, it is the "otherkin" that make me scratch my head and reach for a phone to dial the funny men in white suits. At about that point, fantasy is over and one has stepped into delusion.

P.S. For anyone who still think that the term furry is exclusively a sexual thing, you are quite mistaken. By the broadest definition of the term, nearly every person reading this is or at least was a furry. Between the Muppets, cartoons, and other media, anthropomorphic animals are everywhere, and they are POPULAR for a reason.

It's not nearly as bad as the crazy big-titted (and I mean blimp-like) furries on there.
Cannot. Unsee.

As for the fandom, I like the drawings and stuff and the nice innocent parts of it I guess.
I dont get the sexy parts, so I stay away. But as long as you're not hurting anyone/anything then who am I to judge.

Is that a Garrus dog? lol

Honestly all I've heard is the "furry piles" and... multi-racial bestiality?
Its not been very good for you guys I agree. But I suppose a girl with cat ears at a convention would look sort a cute.

You can blame the media for it. I did see a CSI episode once about furries, can imagine it would be pretty offensive to you.

Yeah, what the hell is going on with all that jumbo inflation crap? I don't even mean big tits, because by some form of logic I guess I can see we people might like that: tits + big = YAY!!!

It's those inflated stomachs the size of Volkswagens that are seriously disturbing. Yeah, yeah, different strokes 'n all, but there's a line. *blegh*

I'm not a fan. Its not that I don't like them as people, its just that in my mind there is a limit to how weird one's fetishes can be before it makes me say "wat?" and furry is on the other side of that limit. The idea of anthropomorphized animal art/porn isn't the problem, its the whole fur suit and creating characters thing that I take issue with. The fur suit is pretty self explanatory, the idea of dressing up like a mascot is really strange, and, in my mind, has no place outside of a sporting event (or at least not in public). The character thing bothers me more because to me, it shows a level of ridiculousness that one would put so much thought into what type of animal they are, not only that, but they go through the trouble to actually flesh out a character, its just really odd to me.

Also, the main thing I dislike can be applied to many different groups and its not exclusive to furries, but its how in your face a lot of furries are about the fact they're furries. I don't want to know, and somehow, I doubt other people want to know. Not all are like this, I know, but its still an issue I have.
