(Didn't bother to read all the replies)

I don't get it, but i tolerate it....barely.

It's just so obnoxious on the internet, since all i ever see and read about it has either to do with the weird sexual stuff, or WORSE, the whole "fighting for acceptance" thing of a self proclaimed pseudo-minority.

It just annoys me, and when people are outright hostile to furrys, i doubt that all of those "you just don't understand us" speeches help.

I don't like it because it's weird.

Like, a cat girl. She has ears on her head. Does that mean her normal ears are gone? What's in their place? Just plain skin? What the fuck?

Or the tails, how does that work? Why are the tails hairy? They should look like a rat's tail.

And then there's the weird porn. Most mammals have 6 nipples. Is this a turn on? I DEMAND ANSWERS! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I think werewolves are cool when they're killing people. I don't think that counts as a furry though.

All in All, I find it creepy but I don't make a big deal about it. However, I don;t think I could stand being in a conversation even remotely centred around furridom

I wonder if any "Furies are disturbing" people have attempted inter species romance in a game we have quite a few you can do that in now and to be that is what being a furry is at it's most perverse, not that i do not know people take it farther.

This is sarcasm yes?
no sarcasm, being serious here. Is that some sort of problem?
No problem I just know that quite a few live in NYC.
it's not like i seek them out. Guess they are well hidden like goths in the daylight (haha Ironic Joke)

This comment is pure gold. Even though there are many arguments about what is a gamer and how some say it makes as little sense as calling someone a booker, you cannot deny that our overarching appreciation of the medium and not necessarily individual components of it could technically allow us to be called a subculture and in direct violation of your statement: "don't be a dick to other subcultures."
So you've construed general apathy as being a dick?

Also, be more specific. Who is "we?" Gamers, who I never precluded as a subculture or furries, where the word "other" already indicates they are?

There's no "technically." Gamers are a set of subcultures.

I hate many subcultures but I would never, ever condemn the individual or express open hatred (as long as it does not hurt others), not because I can't (but I can) but rather out of common courtesy.
Who condemned? Who expressed open hatred? You're the only one who said you hate any subcultures, and you said you hated many of them. I haven't said I hated nor indicated, even tacitly, a hatred for furries or any other subculture here. So I'm more than a little curious. Who the hell are you talking to? If me, how did you get "hate" and "condemnation" out of "I don't care; just don't be a dick?"

This actually mirrors one of the only times I demonstrate annoyance with furries. "Fursecution." You took "Don't be a dick about it" and turned it, basically, into
"lol furfags." An easy analogue would be me accusing you of condemning and hating gamers.

Why do you hate gamers, bro?

What... WHAT THE FUCK?! I do not even know how to reply to that! I made a comment in support of what you said and then you took it all on a tangent proclaiming I attacked someone/group or expressed open hatred? WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let.................me..............break...............it..............down..........for..........you

1.Firstly I agreed with everything you said.

2. You said don't be a dick to other subcultures. I AGREED! I then decided to flesh out my reasoning's for liking that statement so much by showing how many gamers consider themselves part of a subculture (but at the same time many dismiss the term) yet openly bash other subcultures. Something that you clearly did not nor did I imply you did, nor did I imply I in anyway did.

3. My last statement was to simply show that while we have the RIGHT to bash other subcultures, we shouldn't out of common courtesy. In no way was I implying that you did, I simply added onto my own statements at that point.

There were so many incorrect inferences that in the end I do not even know how to properly address them all.

Well on Skyrim I was an Argonian and I married Jordis.....

OT:

I don't have any hate towards furries or anything of the sort but Ironically if the oportunity presents itself that I can play as something other than Humans and they are actually interesting, I go for it. This is why Argonians and Kahjiit are my characters I use in Skyrim.

I did the same thing in Halo actually, I used to love playing as an Elite but after a while, the thrill wore off and I became a Spartan again (Though thats not furrism, thats more playing as an alien)

In Mass effect, I refuse to play as a Human, and I guess I just love the idea of playing as far more interesting races. Do I wish I was an Anthromorphic animal? No. Do I find it interesting to play as in games? Depends (It MUST be cool looking first)

I have pretty much the same opinion of these people as I do with people who are into scat and MLP, you can be into whatever you want to be into, just don't put your likes into my face.

I think it's a little weird but aren't we all in some way?

Yes, first make a poorly worded "agreement" with everything I said, while using terminology that accuses me of hypocrisy, then be exceedingly patronising about it. Perfect, dude!

You came to those own conclusions yourself, it was poorly worded, I will give you that, but at no point did I personally accuse you of anything. Don't bother replying.

When I first heard about them I was confused and slightly disgusted.
Nowadays almost 100% indifference. I just don't care unless they are bothering me

Did someone say furry?

On a serious note, the encounters i have had with these guys online have been fine most respect the fact im not a furry and have no intrest in it, and i respect the fact they do. Sall good.

Now if only more religous folk could take the same stance.

-captcha beer in a bottle
why not just dont come to my house in a fur suit.

I've been a furry for about 7 or 8 years now, yet still never been to a convention. But I like the fandom because it is a bit of a misfit's gathering (at least for me) and I've always had a love for animals (not that kind you perverts!). Sure I look at furry pornography, I've even had my own pictures commissioned from artists. But I've never been one to want recognition for what I choose to be.

But that's wrong. Foot fetishists don't keep it to themselves. Sure, some do. But so do some furries. Also, the furry fandom isn't only people who make it sexual.

And even if it were, foot fetishists aren't a closeted lot many times. And neither are many folks in BDSM. BDSM has a HUGE amount of people who are out and about, about it.

Anyway, I don't have a strong opinion about furry. I'm not a furry and not particularly interested in being one that I am immediately aware of. Furry characters are fun sometimes, and variety is the spice of life. But I don't like furry characters for the sake of it. Instead, I like cute stuff for the sake of it. While there's certainly some overlap, and I like many cute "furry" characters, it's not the same as liking such characters for the sake of it.

It's fine if you do. And I certainly wouldn't recommend repressing such a desire, it's not personally mine. I think that furries should do what they do, liking furry characters for the sake of it, and I should go on liking cute stuff for the sake of it.

Even some of the most hated stuff in the furry fandom, like the fursuit, can be cool sometimes.

Now try to tell me that isn't better than what the Orix Buffaloes had before.

Personally, I know there are some crazy furries out there. There are some people who insist on screenshotting and showing pictures of their exploits. But every fandom has nutjobs. Heck, I'm a nutjob myself. A plenty of folks in it seem just fine.

Without furries, the world would be a little bit more boring. I wouldn't want that.

Im ok with the fandom, alot of my friends are furries and I often have to put up with lots of amounts of yiffery and start saying mer every other sentence. Which shocks alot of furrs since I myself am not a fur, I can just put up with it.
