I'm a long time Metroid fan and with this new game I'm kinda exited I'm just a little upset that it's still only exclusive to the Wii. The game is being developed by teem ninja and it's going to be more of a 3rd person action game rather than just a FPS. So anyways what do you think about the new game?

Of course its going to be on the Wii. Metroid is a nintendo game.

And Im not that bothered. Metroid is a good game but the only one Ive ever liked was the old one I had for the SNES. And I wasnt even a big fan of that.

Personally I think it looks stupid.

But that's an uninformed opinion. I've only seen the first trailer, which I thought was stupid. But I won't judge the game completely until it's actually out.

Well, Team Ninja is making it which concerns me.

And probably for good reason.

Yeah..... that one kinda concerned me as well, but they have made some really great games.

Yeah I know Metroid is a Nintendo game but with how low they have gotten I was hopping they would have sold out. Plus the game is being made by a third party developer so that was another reason too.

What do I think about the new Metroid: Other M? It's not as going to be good as the old one.
/end awkward phrasing rant.

I think it might be the first Wii game I'll have bought since the Okami port.

I thought it looked stupid.

But it might turn out to be the best out of them all. You never know

Well, seeing that "Metroid" has not always been a FPS, and that "Team Ninja" (despite their fixation on boobs) have always made good games, I think it will turn out well.

Yeah this is the first time Metroid is being developed by a 3rd party but I still think it will be good, but I do think its going to get a lot of hate as well. With it being something entirely new to the Metroid genera all the newer Metroid fans who have only played the Primes have never played any other kinda Metroid game so that's a given that it's going to get some hate. And on the chance team ninja screws up it's not it's the first game to be a complete disaster.

I think we have to wait and see. Personally, i've been a little upset with the direction the Metroid series has taken these last few games. Sure they look pretty and all, but what happened to the Metroid hunting? If you want to have some story involving Samus fighting other bounty hunters then make a graphic novel, but don't call it Metroid if you're not fighting those little bastards I used to shoot missiles at on my Gameboy.

You're obviously not a "long-time Metroid fan", because you'd know that it will never be for anything but Nintendo consoles, as it's Nintendo's IP. You'd also know that only the Prime series have been FPS's, and the rest are all side-scrollers, like Other M.

Yeah sorry to burst your bubble but I do know all that I was just hopping it would come out for something else because it's being developed by a 3rd party and for the fact that I really hate the wii. Plus I'm happy that its back to a side scroller or at least kinda one because I was getting tired of it being a FPS with there being 1000 FPS out now.

We'll see. A two-minute trailer with very little gameplay is not enough to judge how a game is going. From what I've seen, Team Ninja has decided to go for a more action-oriented route, which plays to the developer's strength. But they could fuck it up, I suppose.

I own nearly every metroid game. Its always been my favorite series. While the primes are what I consider a proper console shooter-- im a big supporter of PC shooters-- they don't hold a candle to Super Metroid-- one of the greatest games in history.

I will buy other m.

Yeah I was thinking the same. No other Metroid game will ever beat super Metroid but this is something kinda new so I am looking forward to it.

I've seen one promotional trailer of a game that obviously is still in heavy planning. I'm not going to make a statement about it at this point, although team ninja scares me with it's latest ideas of "innovation".

I don't really see anyone offering any new ideas, only complaining or saying "more of the same," i.e. side-scrolling shooter. And that's what Metroid was, exploring AND SHOOTING. If you don't like what they seem to be doing, what do you have to suggest that would be better?

I actually hope it's a 3D, 3rd person explore (and shoot) game like Retro initially set out to do. That's Retro, the not-a-first-party developer of all 3 Prime games. Team Ninja is helping, officially, with a 3D engine, so I hope it's not actually a 2 1/2D game with some camera tricks added. But it's a joint venture with an in-house Nintendo group, so no, it will never ever see the light of day on a Sony or Microsoft system unless the big N goes the way of Sega.

That team involves many of the same people who were responsible for Metroid, M2, Super M and M:Fusion. You shouldn't fear change so much. Do team ninja need to get laid? Yes sir. But they are talented shut-ins.

What I want to see: variety. Since they have stated that it will be more linear than some of the classic games, I do hope plenty of exploration is still there. They've also said that, while it takes place b/tw (and partially including?) Super Metroid and Fusion, it will reveal quite a bit of Samus' early history. I'm hoping this game will help to connect all of the previous games together somehow, and I hope we can see some of Samus very vulnerable, without her powersuit abilities, for some stages. But I'll be pissed if Team Ninja decides to sexualize her further - save that crap for porn, giant cans won't make me care more about the character.
Also - just what the Hell was that ship that sped off at the end of Prime 3? Are we gonna get answers, or will we have to wait another 2 years? Was it Dark Samus (resurrected ala Prime 2) or that other hunter who had a beef with Samus?

Bottom line: the 2 minutes we've seen of (probably) non-gameplay have revealed something that looks different and, to me, promising.

Sorry it's so short, I'm not very verbose.
