I been wondering, what truelly annoys you on the internet? What are the things that make you want to click away from your current page when ever you see them? The people that post "Press this link to be ripped off?" Those pairs of melons that are the Evony ads? Forums topics asking what is the most annoying thing on the internet?

Wait a minute...

The anonymity.

It really does bring the worst out in people. Hell, I'm almost never anonymous on the internet, unless it's really needed. I have my name, my photo, and my country all up on my profile, but a lot of people just totally abuse it to act like what they really are, scumbags and arrogant ones at that.
This. I mean, I remain anonymous, but I try not to act like a douche.

I also hate a lot of things that come out of 4chan. And I hate how some people use the Internet at a quick ego boost by posting their "art" and claiming its going to set the world aflame. This is why I don't like to associate with "artists," much less "artists" on the Internet.

Attention whores. That is to say, those teenage scene kids who amass legions of followers for making countless videos about nothing, and the millions of imitators who try to pull off the same act.

"facebook for adults", "facebook for men", "find a date now" on torrent sites, ads that pop up in front of what you are doing with a ridiculously small x you have to find. Let me surf and download without assuming I'm alone. I don't need a date, I have a girlfriend.

The teenagers who pose as misanthropes over forums because they think it's cool. The teenagers who post threads about how different they are to everyone else. The teenagers who post up their philosophical ideals while believing that they are the first person to have ever thought of them. And of course all the pseudo-intellectual threads, and the threads where the poster claims that they have found a reason why "maths doesn't work" while breaking one or several simple mathematical laws.

The off topic section of this site has been full of all of those kinds of things since I started coming on here, but the gaming section tends to be ok and that's what I come here for. The religion and politics forum was a godsend for filtering out a lot of that crap from the main boards though.

Memes. They get old faster than milk left out on the porch and they reek of unoriginality and stupidity.

The "New" Anonymous.

The ones who now host media friendly websites and go out into public wearing Guy Fawkes masks in an attempt at looking like EFG. Mind you I don't object to their protest of Scientology and all, but seriously, stop giving us other anons a bad name. You're making us look like a bunch of fucking idiots.

Go back to doing what we used to do for lulz: Trolling idiots, milking lulcows, and calling game stores around the world asking for Battletoads.

Porn and Dating adverts. I don't want to find my perfect match, please, leave me alone.

And porn not so much as the belief that that's all the internet is.

I suppose trolls aswell, though I spend a lot of time on deviantart, and if there's one thing I hate, its the religious debates between fundamentalist (and I loose the term loosely) Christians and Atheists who won't back down and keep repeating things like 'if evolution exists how do we still have monkeys' etc.

Fan boys/girls, people who use internet language ALL the damn time, trolls, 'FIND A DATE NOW!' 'UNSATISFIED HOUSEWIFE READY TO CHEAT' 'Use natural male enhancement!' 'Hello, I'm so-and-so from the Bank of Africa with ten million dollars to share...'

...and most importantly, people who don't know when they've lost an argument and keep spewing the same crap that you've counter argued FIVE TIMES already. One in particular was a rabid fan of Ubisoft and the Prince of Persia 2008 game and it drove me absolutely nuts because he refused to acknowledge the games flaws. Ugh... how annoying.

Those random loud ass ads that occasionally pop up out of nowhere. I'm already on the nervous and jumpy side and that shit doesn't help.

Also people who post up the most racist shit I've ever seen (game, video, or picture wise)and then see a bunch of people shortly after commenting on how hilarious it is and how all the sensitive people need to get over themselves. Really?! How about we stop using the same stupid racist jokes that we've all heard before and actually make something that's genuinely funny and unoffensive. Well, maybe with the exception of those hilarious celebrity pictures that the celebrities themselves find less then amusing (but even that keep race out of).

Holy crap I disagree with Furburt :>

I actually like the fact that you can be anonymous online. It gives opportunities that you dont have anywhere else in life. Sure people can be dicks, but fortunately online you dont have to take their abuse. Its usually really easy to leave or ignore them. Anonymity also brings with it a freedom to be an asshole if you want, I like that freedom. I think it shows a side of humanity that we dont usually get to see. And if you dont want to see it, look another way.

I love the Internet and I dont have a lot of bad stuff to say about it, but I dont like popups. It's like a postman knocking at your door and throwing commercials in your face. Other than that...its a hell of a place.
