Switzerland, despite the fact that Switzerland is THE most militarized country in the world.
They haven't been to any wars for centuries, so yeah...
I'd love to know how you determined that.

Homefront 2, Austrailians have invaded Tibet, your job is purge the invaders and reclaim freedom :/

Not the sort of thing you'd expect to see on a game's description, you're more likely to see America or the UK fighting some other arabian or russian nation besides Germany. But you might just play it out of curiousity.

So yeah, which countries would you be shocked to see in a war game and why :D
Australia being invaded, aha! lol
Probably by a fictional force so no nation is pinned as the badguy.

I'd love to defend my country from the invading forces of fictional soldiers :)

Arctic Warfare.

Imperial Penguins have begun a massive state of oppression over all of Antarctica. As a lone Gentoo, you must free the people, I mean penguins, from the Imperial Penguin Empire by starting a revolution, rallying the troops for a just cause. Use your snowball rifles and cannons to lay waste to the enemy and claim victory.

Coming sometime never this Fall.

Uruguay...

Not only our army is smaller than every single state in the USA or country in Europe, but we remained neutral during both world wars and nobody gave a sh*t.

Australia.

No question.

The only shooter I can think of that featured an Australian based setting was the original Rainbow Six on the N64. And even that was indoors and completely unrecognisable as an Australian setting except for the back story involved.

Europe and North America are prime wartime targets based on their respective histories. The Middle East and much of Africa is... well... unstable. Asia has had their share of wars. South America is generally viewed (and extensively unfounded) as a patchy continent where revolution is always a possibility.

I suppose you can go to the obscure as fuck places like pacific islands or whatever, but you can still find WW2 America vs Japan games about that.

Australia is the only country I can think of that has no real risk of invasion.

You'd need some sort of otherworldly horror to attack for Australia to be under threat.

Switzerland and any of the Scandinavian countries, because they tend to stay out of any conflicts.
I take it you didn't know that Denmark participated in the Iraq War.

Op: In Antarctica and it's a war over who shall have control over the land for agriculture.

Move back to the Cold War and Scandinavia is a perfect setting for a big war game. Why? Because the Scandinavian Penninsula is a great staging-base to use either to pound the western soviet front or go wild in the Atlantic. Didn't any of you guys read Red Storm Rising or play Harpoon?

Oh... right... most of you weren't born when they came out. Gods, I feel old now.

No, least likely countries for a war game are:

- Australia
- New Zeeland
- Any south-american country

I did say "tend to". I'd guessed that one of them got involved in iraq/Afghanistan due to NATO etc, but they're not one of the main contingents.

How about the Faukland islands? I mean who would declare war for such a desolate bunch of rocks in the middle of no where?

Play the Europa Universalis/Victoria/Hearts of Iron games they are war games with most of the countries listed in them.
It would be funny to see a war game center around a conflict between the Republic of Nauru and Tuvalu.
