On the subject... The other year when I went to San Francisco a great many people of both sexes commented on how much they loved my accent (I'm from Cork, Ireland). Is this an American thing? Are they all crazy for Irish accents?
My cousin (he lives there (I was visiting him)) says so, but I don't trust how reliable he is. According to it makes it much, much easier to get into American underwear (that said he's quite handsome, according to my grandma "I picked a good 'un with your granpappy; all me grankiddies are gorgeous" but she's partially blind so I say she's a liar).
Anyway, I personally find the sophisticated English accent to be sexy, but most regional accents in the UK are a real turn off.
