Sometimes. Most of the times I see stupid good bargains (BF:BC for 10$?!) and whip out a 20 and my ID.
Short of trying to get one of the latest MMOs or PC version of shooters, I'd never try to get PC games there. That's always an online buy for me.Soviet Heavy said:They can have a couple dozen good console games, but if you go in looking for a disk copy of Mass Effect PC, you're shit outta luck.
Their trade-in deals I always love, especially when I get really good deals for something silly. Liiike...I put 5 down on BF3 and got an extra 40%. It's really nice.zombiesinc said:They've always had what I'm looking for, save for the few times I check to see if they have an older game (PSX/PS2/Gamecube). When it comes to upcoming games, they've got it all, so generally I'm happy.
I've never been one to trade in old games, but having the option is finally something I'll be making use of. Trading in two or three old games to pre-order Assassin's Creed Revelations, ESV or Battlefield 3 is pretty sweet. Should save me at least some money for this upcoming busy release holiday.
With tongue firmly in cheek, I must say that you should have pre-ordered it.mireko said:Eh, they're neither the best nor the worst where I live. Their used section is boring and they don't always have what I'm looking for, but then other times they'll have exactly what I need (had to check out three different stores to find Vanquish on release).
I expletively love your avatar.zombiesinc said:They've always had what I'm looking for, save for the few times I check to see if they have an older game (PSX/PS2/Gamecube). When it comes to upcoming games, they've got it all, so generally I'm happy.

I don't know where you're from, but I'm willing to bet you're not from Sweden. Gamestop is expensive here, and that's coming from someone who is used to the European prices on Steam.Fusioncode9 said:They always have a great selection with cheap prices. The customer service is fantastic as well. They almost always have the game I'm looking for, and if they don't I just go to Amazon.
Can't say I know about it. What were their main complaint points?vietfighter said:Was there not some guy who blew the whistle on Gamestop's business practices? Zero Originality was the series title, mostly because the art is based off of Zero Punctuation.
Ouch. That's just awful. I can't complain about that here. They let you gather as much store credit as you want, and considering I just got $37 for Black Ops when MW3 is due later this year(Of which I have no intention of getting), I'd say I got a pretty good deal.InfectedStar said:Yeah ok, everything about Gamestop is great except for when you're trading games. They rip off the prices and (of course in Winnipeg only) you're only allowed to trade in 1 game towards 1 game, not 15 games towards 1 game. So for me Gamestop sucks unless I go to a different city.
Yea, Gamestop is hands down one of the worst places to rely on for a PC gamer. I assume they just don't like getting too involved in that area due to their trade-in program. It doesn't work with PC games.Caffeine Rage said:The times I had to go in there, mostly to pick up a WoW time-card when I still still playing World of Warcraft, I tried browsing their game sections and found their PC game section to be slightly non-existent. Well, outside of Blizzard games and what ever flavor of the week MMO was coming out.
Since I prefer PC over consoles, this was a problem for me.
It was kind of sad that they had more shelf space dedicated to old, used Gamecubes and used games for them than they did for current PC games.
