Then have there be another gamestop in that gamestop.
yo dawg we heard you liked gamestop so we put a gamestop in your gamestop so you buy games while buying games but in seriousness it reminds me of the time my sister had to buy new cables for her ps3 and we went to the closest one and then they said we don't have them but this one across town does so we had to go there just to the cables
O.T. all of the gamestops I went to seemed to have the games I want but can't get and when I get the money they're gona hate it when stuff like that happens

I usually find what I want there, but I don't like going there.
I did have one odd incident. I couldn't find Barnyard Blast: Swine of the Night
at gamestop, but I did find it at Best Buy (which I hate going to even more).

They always have a great selection with cheap prices. The customer service is fantastic as well. They almost always have the game I'm looking for, and if they don't I just go to Amazon.
Thank you, Gamestop adbot.

Amazon all the way. Steam for PC games. Gamestop's prices are far too high for used console games, trade ins are a rip-off, but the employees at my stores are okay though.

As far a selection, it is crap once you get past the top 25 games on the console.

Was there not some guy who blew the whistle on Gamestop's business practices? Zero Originality was the series title, mostly because the art is based off of Zero Punctuation.
Can't say I know about it. What were their main complaint points?
First part is about how the prices are ripoffs compared to other stores and the quality tends to be less than peachy. Second part about labor violations and all that. the guy used to work there, apparently.

here, let me bring you to the videos.

I honestly haven't had any issues like this. The guy is either talking out of his arse or worked at a very bad gamestop. He fails to mention several key things and either it's changed since then, or he's just plain wrong on a few other points. While their selection has disappointed me at times, I still do give the company my support.

Other than a Hastings about 40 miles away its the only place where I can buy games at a reasonable price, they usually have a good selections, and other than one spectacular **** who apprently laughed at someone when they expressed their distress caused by a deathly sick mother, the staff is pretty cool.

It's total crap. Gamestop is fucking worthless. If I want physical media (which is synonymous with PS3 games for me, since I don't use physical media on my PC anymore), then I'll just order off of Amazon. It's normally cheaper, it has an infinity better selection, the games comes shrink wrapped, they have a better return policy and customer service, and I don't get pestered and bugged about pre-ordering.

The only things I buy in person are my groceries and textbooks, and I really don't know why don't get the latter from the net.

I like their selection. Their gamecube games are extremely reasonably priced.

They are starting to turn more into walmart/target it seems if the smaller stores (ones in the malls/strips that lease their spots), where they show the more recent release, but thats understandable. I find their website has enough to suit me.

And if not, I'll get one. i've got enough srouces and relationships to get just about any game I would want for a cheap price.

so I think it varies. Like everythign about gamestops. i like mine, but its staffed by gamers, both hardcore and casual, and they know just about anyhting you need collectively. I once took my DS to them and they fixed it for me for little charge and told me what they did so i could do it myself if it happened again.

They always have every game I have ever wanted besides Spore. No one seems to sell it anymore.

They're much better than the other game stores in this area. Also, with three GameStops within twenty minutes of where I live, at least one of them usually has what I'm looking for.

Last time I went in I was pestered about preordering Skyrim about 10,000 times. All I did was look at the display box and the clerk wouldn't stop talking to me about how I should preorder the game to get "X" with it the day it comes out. I insisted I didn't want to preorder it and the dude is like, "well you should."

Really? Fallout New Vegas is 49.99$ on Steam and 17.99$ used at Gamestop. 20$ for a new copy. Trade ins are ripoff, I'll agree with you there. And I stand by what I said about the selection, it's great.

It is just plain stupid to buy games at full price on digital distribution services. They go on sale every other day. FO:NV (and Bethsoft games as a whole) is an exception. I got MoH on D2D for $7.50 when it was still $59.99 in GS. Bulletstorn for $10 when it was $49.99. Dead Space 2 for $10 when it was $39.99. BC2 for $7.50 when it was $29.99.

Granted, I don't usually use Steam for my cheap new game purchases; most used to come through D2D.

Selection depends on what you are looking for. If it's mainstream, sure it's good. If another but, nope. 5 months after Enslaved was released, only 1 GS out of 10 or so in my area had it.

I suppose Gamestop is what, EB Games over here? They usually have most games I'm after, although I've noticed this strange thing that the original Mass Effect isn't in any of their stores I've been in. Very strange.

Oh well, I continue to shop there, but usually only buy stuff when it's on sale. Sorta like with Steam, since both of them like to display rip-off prices to me most of the time.

I've never been one to trade in old games, but having the option is finally something I'll be making use of. Trading in two or three old games to pre-order Assassin's Creed Revelations, ESV or Battlefield 3 is pretty sweet. Should save me at least some money for this upcoming busy release holiday.
Only poor people trade in games so they can save a few bucks. True story.

I don't trade games or buy second hand so I tend to buy online because they have a better selection.

Also game shops where I live tend to smell like man BO for some reason. It isn't very pleasant. :p

I preordered Skyrim from the most pleasant one becuase I want to upgrade it to the collectors edition when/if it is announced and I figured that would be simpler when dealing with people.

I think they have a good selection. They don't have older games, but it is the only way to get pre-order specails.

Terrible, no PC games besides MMOs really Target or BestBuy and of the two target tends to be cheaper.

While they stay more to the presant stream of games like 360, ps3, and wii games, they still have some decent choices. But when it comes to things like getting a new copy of FFVII(the new puppy ate it) or ps1 memory cards to replace my corrupted ones(was not a good day for me) i will go to Goozex or the Game Werks.(While goozex does have a wait and point system it does get me some really good games)

The only time when I check gamestop, is when I'm on vacation, and everywhere else than home :p. And I mostly buy used games from them. Only thing I wish they had more of, is (good) GBA and Gamecube games, as those are rare to come by, at least in scandinavia. I could always use the internet, but I'll rather not
