I am quite fond of people, and without them I would kill myself, or, I suppose not exist in the first place.
People are damn awesome, and if you think everyone else is stupid and just a "sheeple" then your a narcissistic prick with delusions of greatness 
A person can be a nice, wonderful human being you meet at a party and have a lovely chat with, maybe start a friendship or even something more.
People, on the other hand, are stupid, panicky, irrational, selfish and will act without logic or premeditation.

all of these supported by millions of people at that time
what the jist of what im saying is is that it depends on the condition of the world as they grew up
the "people" of germany during WWII were generally shit since they were following the ideas of a mad man
the american "people" were generally shit while they enslaved millions of africans
but the achievments of a "people" mean nothing to an individual
and i try not to judge people based on the "people" they come from
