Ask me again when they make one with 2 Analog sticks. For one its not worth the space it would take in my pocket.

I've had mine since release and I own most of the 3DS games worth owning. The only problem I have with it is that the eShop is a tad lacking, though the demos are awesome simply because I can finally try a DS game without having to rent it. Also I've found that the battery lasts a lot longer than people seem to have said when it was released. I get faaaaaar more than 3 hours with 3D on.

Bought at release, sold 4 months later due to lack of games. Gonna get a new one when the XL comes out in AU so that I can play Adventure Time and OoT.

I posted a thread about it 2 days ago, no one replied.

From what I hear it has framerate issues. Some say it is a dealbreaker, others say it is barely an issue.

I would like to get a few more opinions but as I said, no one replied.

I remember the PS2 version slowing down a lot during fights like The Fury and I wonder if the 3DS is the same.

I have MGS3D, but haven't gotten anywhere in it yet. Not a huge fan of the Gyro sensor being used to keep balance when walking on trees and such, and not having the Circle Pad makes it a lot harder to do stuff. But in the 5 minutes I played I had no framerate problems. If you are planning on buying it get a Circle Pad Pro also. I think that will help a lot.
Thanks for the info both of you, and I think I'll get MGS3D and the Circle Pad Pro at some stage. I mind the framerare issues of it on PS2 but it definitely didn't stop me loving it, and I've always been intrigued by the 3DS version, plus the fact I haven't really made much use of the whole 3D thing since the only 3DS game I've got at the moment is OoT.

Motion controls have potential IMO. I only used them to aim in Ocarina of Time but they are a great way to aim. Much better than an analogue stick, almost as good as a mouse. It's rather silly that they tried to add a second analogue stick when they realised the Vita had one, they do not need it. In fact, if I had any sort of power at Microsoft or Sony I'd make the controllers for the next gen consoles have motion sensors and I'd fund FPS games that used them.
Trying to play MGS3D or RE: Revelations without the second stick is just shit and frustrating.

Also, anybody now if the Snake Eater is any good, and whatever they've added to the 3DS version makes it worth getting? I've been tempted by it, but I always have the HD Collection version to play on the Xbox.

I never noticed any framerate problems. I actually liked it a lot more on the 3DS. It felt a lot easier controlling the menu, weapon, and item selection through the touch screen. Although the controls would probably be better though with the Pro. Trying to aim with ABXY controls during the Shagohod chase was an absolute *****.

I DON'T LIKE IT!

...which is why I am upgrading mine to a 3DSXL in a few weeks lol.

But seriously I didn't like the design of it, both aesthetically and functionally. I bought the blue one and this thing isn't even blue, it's a horrible aqua color that makes me a little ill every time I see it, and it's three different shades of this horror. It's also too damn small, I don't travel much and when I play a game I don't want to be hunched over a tiny screen in my room when i am sitting by just a large TV on my wall. To bad this thing doesn't have video out, it would have been nice to play the Zelda remake on my TV. Oh well, I am about to get a larger screen at least and that makes me happy. One in a nice blue color, to!! =D =D =D

But what else is there to say? It's a Nintendo console, meaning it's core games will be fantastic and everything else will be either meh or shovel-ware. Sadly now that I have Starfox, Zelda, Mario and Mario Kart, I can't think of anything else I want for it... besides the new Mario coming out soon. I find myself only playing the Ambassador games right now while I wait for Mario. That's how it is with every recent Nintendo console though, I just wish Nintendo released their games a lot more frequently because I need more reasons to play their consoles.

Good system, don't really like the 3D but thats OK because it's optional, Kingdom Hearts 3D and Ocarina are awesome but I could use a few more games, waiting on some portable RPGs and an original Zelda title to really call it good.

I finally got to try one a few weeks ago and the 3D was surprisingly good, especially since I'm lucky enough to not have it bother me. Haven't got one myself because money, but once Paper Mario is coming around I think I'll con my way into it somehow.

I boycotted ever taking an interest when I heard Nintendo could brick the damn thing and never looked back. This was, of course, one of their dubious answers to piracy, by making it possible for them to ruin your system. The problem? Uhhh...what happens when someone gets bricked and no piracy was involved? The thing doesn't revert. It's a doorstop. So no, I don't think very much of the 3DS. I'm sure it's nice, but I'll never have one.

I like DS games, unfortunately they went and made a new system, and so the games are made for that new system so if I want to play new DS games I'll need one by default.

That being said, I currently don't see any games I want to play for it in the known future aside from EO4.

I despise 3D, but I have never actually seen a 3DS in action so idk how much of a head ache it would provide me with. I DO know that I'll get the 3DS XL for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that it has a mush larger battery life.

I still have a black DS lite, never having "upgraded" to the DSi so I still enjoy being able to play GBA games.

I wish I didn't need to get my gamecube hooked up to play original gameboy games like Link's Awakening and Metroid 2 etc.

I assume they are probably available to repurchase on the DSi store, or will be though.

I played it in store, and if due to the fact that it was bolted to the ground (or rather, to a stand that was bolted to the ground), me not being in the correct position because of that, or me just not being able to see the 3D, I didn't think much of the 3D. I could just about see it at times, but what I saw wasn't that impressive. I've been told I've not been using it properly, as the 3D is supposed to be very impressive.

Because of that, I've not bought one. I would get one if there were more games for it that I wanted - beyond OoT, I can't see much reason, and even then it's only because my N64 isn't portable, and itd mean I wouldn't have to wait for connections that I've lost to arrive (or new ones that connect my new TV to the console).

I'm happy with my DS.
