I managed to grow my hair a little past my shoulders last year for the first time since I was like, 12, but then cut it all off. I know that a lot of people don't like short hair on women, and plenty of people found it important to tell me what a bad decision it was to get it cut, but who cares? Long hair was a pain in the ass, always got dried out from having to style it, and was always in my way if I didn't pull it back when working. I also really want to buzz my hair off once in my life, just to say I did, but I don't want to draw tons of attention to myself. :C
I dunno, some women pull off short styles nicely, others can't. Depends on the facial structure. I hated short hair on women for a while, because it reminded me of how ridiculously hard it is to grow it out and how shitty it looks in the mean time, but I think I'm over that now. Also I find long hair pretty much universally unattractive on guys. I guess I'm not really a fan of hair in general.
