Gravity Gun. Beat a zombie to death with a mattress and tell me otherwise.

I kind of find the regular gravity gun is a bit overrated, yes its cool, but unless there are exploding barrels, or rocks or something, around, or your fighting one enemy that doesn't shoot you, its kind of ineffective. But the energized one on the other hand.....

THE LAPTOP GUN!!!!! from perfect dark (the good 64 one) so sweet just to plant on a wall taunt someone into chasing you then double teaming them from both sides... sounds alot fruitier than i remember but yeh that gun = awesome

- tf2 medic gun
- cerebral bore (that was a nasty one)

Gonna go with a few.
Not really a weapon, but tanks. As Yahtzee says "Spam tanks and steamroll the map and hope the objective is something that dies along the way" -Only in FPS, you have your team do this, and hope the enemy doesn't counter spam Anti tank rockets... This works surprisingly well in some FPS, much like in some RTS...

For actual guns... - SNARK! I think from HL1. Had so much fun with those little buggers. (Naturally, Snark pit was one of my favorite maps)
Grenade suicide runs. BFG, supercharged Grav Gun from Halflife 2, Grenade launchers, Sheva's Longbow from RE4. Engineer wrench from TF2. And thats all I can remember...

The Reaper from Perfect Dark imagine a three drills, now put them on another spinning assembly, now put holes all over the drills where blaster bolts shoot out. You now have the essence of chaos.

a standard rifle is usually the best all-rounder weapon e.g COD4 M16, GOW2 lancer

The gravity gun was really neat. But for pure, old-fashioned awesomeness, the BFG 9000. I remember getting that gun for the first time in the very first DOOM and my smile nearly cracked my face in two. I had never felt so bad.

If you keep your eyes peeled and save the Fat Boy for the important parts, there was plenty of ammo. I am a hoarder and by the time I finished Fallout 3 I had something like six or seven nukes in my inventory, which is more than enough.

I'd say...Gravity gun, or maybe that flak cannon from Unreal Tournament.

EDIT: And also a crowbar. Not as effective as many weapons, but it's sure as hell fun to use.

It has a tertiary fire that shoots lightning shurikens.

Which was certainly ORIGINAL, but was by no means was it fun to use or any such thing.
