Simple, the last episode of series 6 is nearly upon us so lets do some speculating! I think that some way or another the Doctor wont die and maybe River dies (if yes then thank god I hated her). I think that nothing much will change but they will make us think that all is going to hell

Also, Im gonna have to be quick if I want to beat Timelord and imnotparanoid in creating the inevitable your thoughts thread after the episode.

I think the current director will prove, once again, he has no grasp of how to properly do Doctor Who. Which is a shame, because he's written some very good individual episodes. I felt more emotionally invested in every episode of Davies' Dr. Who than I have in all of the newer series combined. I just hope he gets that he doesn't need to destroy the universe all the time in order to make it interesting to watch.

I have a feeling (that I'm hopefully wrong about because it would be stupid and extremely signposted if I'm right) that the Doctor who we saw die was a Ganger. Or maybe his change in wardrobe every couple of episodes since the show came back will have something to do with it.

River won't die, because she already died in season 4 (the River now being from earlier in her timeline), she'll be put in the stormcage where we first saw her in season 5, maybe "the good man" she said she killed was someone important to the Silence and the anglican marines.

I say the Question that the Silence are searching for the answer to will be set up as the big mystery for season 7, and the Doctor will get a new hat.

We know both River, The Doctor, Amy and Rory won't die permanantly in this episode. As River dies when she meets the 10th version of the Doctor (David Tennant) in the Library. And as for the rest, they have already been assigned onto another season so they must survive somehow. I don't really have any idea's how the Doctor survives though...

The Silence will all storm out and (hopefully) put an end to the biggest crime against the world that is ever likely to happen.

The Silence will save us all from the Steps reunion concert.

Then they will all dance to Cotton Eye Joe around a giant wicker man that has Moffat being slowly roasted inside.

Then they will bring in a 6 year old with some paper and crayons to write next season on and will still probably do a more coherent job than Moffat did.

Cue end credits and finale song by Cheryl Cole in an attempt to reignite her career after failing miserably this past year.

Then a brief glimpse at the start of next season with the Doctor being played by Vinnie Jones and his sidekick Emma Watson trying to prove she can do more than Hermione.

Vinnie will be forced to beat his way through The Doctors most terrifying enemy to date ..... the mass army of ex Big Brother contestants, using nothing but his sonic baseball bat .... *insert dramatic music here*.

The Doctor Who died on that beach claimed he was over 1100 years old while the version of The Doctor we're following is almost at that point and yet he's only 909. Hopefully the many unanswered questions that have been with us since the start of the season will be answered. It's about time anyway.

What impresses me about this finale is I've genuinely no idea. There is a potential time paradox such that if the Doctor doesn't do something about a death occurring with Rory and Amy witnessing, the Silence would never be ousted from Power on Earth. This leads to a problem whereby they would have no reason to want the Doctor dead if events didn't play out as they did, so the question is whether the Doctor is actually emotionally willing, in order to save his own life (and seemingly nothing else) to change history in a very unstable way.

I really, really don't get the hate for Moffat.

This finale is the first Doctor Who finale of the new series (all the way back to 1) I genuinely can't wait for. Since the mid-season finale.
Partly because it's not a two-parter, if I'm honest.

I agree.

Anyway, I predict either a regeneration or, seeing as that would bring us to the 12th Doctor and according to canon a there can only be up to the thirteenth, he wears a bulletproof vest (see Doc Brown in Back to the Future).

Actually, no; those are both stupid ideas. I've got no clue.

Alas, I'm fairly certain that he alludes to having spent 'a long time alone' when he meets that Corden bastard. I assume that's the extra hundred years or so.

Bullet proof vest would be cool, but doesn't he get shot by a laser gun? Laser proof vest maybe?

I want to know what the deal with the eyepatches is. That's got to be a big thing.

I and by 'I' I mean Timelord think the eyepatches have an image of the silence in them, so they dont forget them.

If he was a ganger, he's have dissolved, wouldn't he? And if he was to be a ganger, there'd have been no reason for the writers to kill off his first ganger. They could have just left his fate ambiguous.

River won't die, because she already died in season 4 (the River now being from earlier in her timeline), she'll be put in the stormcage where we first saw her in season 5, maybe "the good man" she said she killed was someone important to the Silence and the anglican marines.
Maybe the Doctor gets kind of saved, and regenerates, ergo technically being killed. I'm sure River would regret that, and she gets jailed for doing a botched job. What I want to know is why that church army sect were friendly towards the doctor in that weeping angels episode. (Granted, it's been a while so I'm probably forgetting something simples.)

We can only hope. I, personally love that quirk, as I collect hats myself. And weapons, which I'm sure he wouldn't approve of. I do have the David Tennant coat though... therefor... "Hello, I'm the Doctor!"

He had one of those, when River poisoned him. A sonic cane, too.

Well we know he's going to survive *somehow*, since Matt Smith is apparently doing the 7th series. Though I am particularly excited by this finale because I honestly have no clue how the companions are going to pull the doctor's ass out of the fire on this one; it's usually the other way around.

Perhaps The Silence will realise that if the Doctor dies at Lake Silencio in 2011 then the series of events will lead Past!Doctor to go back to the 60s and oust them. To prevent this, they actually stop him from being killed so that they will go back to being unknown. Then The Doctor has to work with Past!Doctor to hide all this from Amy and Rory so their journey (as in, the rest of series 6) goes as normal. Then they have to defeat The Silence again. Or some shit.

A bit off-topic too, but I wonder what the Silence were up to during the Miracle since we know there were still a few milling around...

But that would be a paradox, and a really powerful one. We'd be looking at another Tardis-Explosion-level event... Or maybe, the same one?

Also, I'm just watching Lets Kill Hitler again on iPlayer, and the death of the Doctor at lake Utah on the 22nd of April 2011 is confirmed as a fixed point of History by the Teselecta. Maybe this just means the Silence are manipulating historical record, but if we take it at face value, what would it mean to reverse a fixed point in history? An influx of dangerous and destructive monsters?
