Re-make House of the Dead but make it so that you can move your character around yourself, instead of having to follow a set path like in the arcade machines.

A 4 player online Metal Slug with super zombies.

Better yet Plants vs Zombies vs Humans.

Robots vs Everyone!! (humans, zombies, monsters, aliens, and ghosts)
Robots- capture zones and destroy everything else
Humans- try and survive and defend zones
Zombies- feast and infect humans to grow their army
Monsters- fight independently, transform humans
Aliens- capture all except ghosts and fight robots, can convert units
Ghosts- possess anyone except zombies and robots

The Thriller dance.

On a more serious note, if they had a bit more brains (pun intended!) then they would be a real threat. Zombies in Left 4 Dead have enough sense to try and come at you at weird angles; let's see the zombies work together to ambush you or hide in the safehouse and wait for you to walk by.

Some forced evasion. I really love Left 4 Dead but there is no point where you see the zombie horde out on the street and thing "hmm, I wonder if I should skip this encounter" not that there is generally a way to skip it but...you get the idea.

Also, I like the idea of clearing buildings. Clearing out the hospital is the most thrilling setting in the game because you have to search through the rooms for heals, there are always zombies hiding in the corners and the whole setting is confined and creepy.

Also, a real scripted zombie game like Left 4 Dead where you start out when infection begins to spread and end with some kind of escape or inevitable death. If you had to run around and choose between keeping people alive to help you or shooting them because they will just come back to attack you that would be great. I always think of the scene in Dawn of the Dead where the guy is on his front lawn with the handgun and he gets swarmed, I'd like to see some of that.

Also, having to scrounge through houses in a residential neighborhood to find weapons, food, health, etc would be great. You could even set it up like Rainbow 6 (the old ones) and have a squad of people with you covering doors, windows, entering rooms first, etc. Really get the player involved in the game and also continue with the co-op option because I love it in L4D.

Well, I could give you a full run-down of my dream zombie game, but you said we only have one feature to add/remove:, so mine is...

Randomly generated cities.

make them scary again

re 4 and 5 were not even zombies just crazy african and spanish villagers
deadrising has a million extremely efictive weapons so much so that then never pose a chalange
left 4 dead has them running wick makes them not very threatening to me

they need to make it dark and the zombies apear close to you instead of out of grabing range but inside shooting range

i would like to see things like where you can set up a house and protect, scavenge etc. etc.
if you've ever played the flash game "Last Stand 2" something like that only 3D, physics, and none of the time management thing, i want to say to a teammate "stay here" and they listen and they protect your stuff while you go looking for more stuff. thats what would make me glaze my pants for a zombie game....and make it more realistic, none of that stuff where it takes twenty gazillion bullets to take down 5 of them.

and another great thing would be to start and end the story i.e. you start in your home with the television peoples telling you to not have alot contact with the world etc. etc. and then you get to go prepare for the coming apocalypse, lets say you have 5 days before things start getting dangerous. and then you have to start surviving, with a basic goal. Get out of the city alive by whatever means necessary. and i think you should have a way to get infected but you have an hour or so before you are turned and you have to wash out the wound and hope for the best. basically a zombie survival simulator.

I want to see variety. With Left 4 Dead within the space of 20 minutes you have already faced all the monsters you are going to be killing for the rest of the game.

An RTS style game where you control a Zombie hord and have to take down humanity
Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel without a Pulse. It's on XBLA I believe. Was an original Xbox game. Got good reviews.
Stubbs the zombie is a 3rd person 'shooter' I know i have it. An it is a good game. But what im talking about is like age of empires except you controll zombies and you eradicate humanity.

This is an idea for a game me and some friends came up with one day, we agreed it would be the perfect survival horror.

I would like a comeplete free sandbox game. Its gonna be like I am legend. There are NO safe places. There are NO others. Its you trying to get from point A to point B surviving on your starting pistol, rope and a lighter plus your ability to find stuff thats gonna make you live. Time passes the same everyday. The horde comes at night weather you are ready or not. Every house can be fortified but some are far supior to others and have built in objects to use as cades. You survive the horde and you live to see dawn. When you are injured you drip blood leaving a scent for zombies to follow which is why bandages are important. If you are lucky the night will be silent and there will be no horde. Taking potshots out a skyscraper is an option but once there your trapped. Police stations and abandoned army turkcs will provide weapons and ammo. Like a horde attack in L4D, in the day when you only find 1 or 2 zombies you will encounter a nest, where zombies sleep due to their poor day time vision. At this point they will converge on you as a mass mob. Cars and shiz in this game will work but fuel is tight and roads are blocked byc ars and wreckage from the army fight.

Spose i should explain items in this game. The rope helps with cades as it provides more structure (other items will help like this, nails ect. Lighter can ignite molotovs and cades making zombies who climb over them die while damaging the cade. ALL items are usefull if you can think of a way to combine them with other items. Food is important too but not to an extreme degree.

Sorry its a bit long bit i think this would be a perfect zombie game.

I want them back in the Resi series, but seeing how the storyline for the plagas is going, i assume they've taken over the zombies' place on Resi, so yeah maybe once or twice I'd like to see a zombie in the next mainstream Resi game
There's really no difference between plagas and zombies. In fact, the plagas victims are zombies if you go by the traditional definition.
yeah you have a point, but the old zombies had a more classic feel to them rather than the plagas which felt only like simply psycho villagers

Plagas victims can use weapons with accuracy. Since when can a traditional zombie light a stick of dynamite and lob it at a survivor? Sure in Land of the Dead they did eventually figure out how to shoot but they weren't very efficient. There is no way they could throw an axe from 100 feet with pinpoint accuracy.

Also the plagas were controlled. Traditional zombies cannot be controlled.
traditional zombies, by definition, are being controlled at all times

By "traditional zombie" I mean the OOOOOLLLLD zombies, way before the undead. Originally a zombie was a slave under the control of a magician or shaman. In that regard the plagas victims are more zombie than the shuffling undead.

To me a traditional zombie is a George Romero type not a Haitian Voodoo type especially since the Voodoo types weren't technically dead in the first place but just appeared to be dead. Although there is the ole necromancy which I didn't consider when I made the post so I do concede defeat.
