What the frak was broken about the Water Temple?

Sure it's hard, sure I need a walkthrough everytime I play it, but its challenging and doesn't hold your hand and makes you use your brain. Heaven forbid a game does that.

It's my favourite part of the game. If they are "Fixing" it then I'm probably not going to get the damn remake now.
They are fixing the need to pause to get the iron boots on and off I believe.

Haha really? That's not "fixing" the water temple, that's just changing the menu/interface/layout/applesauce.

"fixing the water temple" lol. Man people sure interpret things in a funny way.

Um ... I don't want a remake. I like the way it was on the N64, I think they should leave it exactly the same. But they probably won't, they'll probably update at least the graphics. Ah well. I should probably just keep my Collectors Edition and call it good.
Yes but now you can take your game anywhere. Just think of how awesome long drives would have been had you had the legend of zelda OoT on your gameboy.
They were awesome anyway, I had OoT on my emulator on my laptop ^_^
Emulators are just not the same.
Why, controller? I had a nice one with me ^_^ It broke recently though.

Improved graphics are about it. MAYBE swordplay on Epona, but that would be the only thing I could even consider adding.

And what was wrong with the water temple? I loved it the way it was, and didn't consider it too difficult, just annoying.

OH! They could slap in the Master Quest mode, like they had on that dual disk, where the combat is tougher, and the dungeons are jumbled up! Put a normal and a master mode on, that would be kickass.

Really? That's pretty silly. Were they trying to mislead people or something?

Anyway, now I won't rage as hard against the game and will give it a try. Thanks for the clari.

I think it'd be interesting if the water temple had a system of stones that weigh you down instead... so like, think if you needed to get to the bottom of a particularly deep area but your oxygen won't permit the full dive: Grab the stone and inch your way to the ledge... you more or less rocket to the bottom and have time to swim back up.

Oh, I remember the Water Temple as it was... damn thing took a few days, but I made it with no strategy guide by simply exhausting the different corridors/water depths.

Improvements I'd Like to See for Ocarina of Time Remake:
1. 60FPS - The original was "locked for 30FPS" and looked smooth by N64 standards, but it ain't 1999 anymore.
2. Fully 3D-Modeled Cities, Shops (In place of the panoramic 2D images used originally).
3. Enemies naturally occupy the Hyrule Field, no longer spring up from the ground at random.
4. Wildlife, for that matter... no Zelda game puts emphasis on natural, harmless wildlife (different species of birds, squirrels, etc). Most of the games locales are completely barren aside from you and the things you are intended to kill.
5. Improved particle effects/2d "Decal" effects (Better smoke, lava falling, water splashing, blades of grass, etc).
6. More Travel Options with Epona, in particular, the option to take a "Scenic Route". The game's gonna be on a 3D system, and be a remake of what was one of the original "see it in the distance, go there" style games... you jump on Epona, you should be able to double tap a waypoint on a map and have her run/jump automatically towards it. Along the way you can freely adjust the camera/shoot down incoming baddies.

I'd love updated music in addition to the graphics (and by that I mean fully orchestrated music). I doubt it will happen, but it would be so beautiful [http://www.zreomusic.com/z5].

I really hope they don't rearrange the Water Temple. Yes, it's the most annoying dungeon and yes, I thought it was impossible as a kid, but after replaying it recently, it's not that bad. Make the iron boots easier to take on and off (a la Twilight Princess), and leave it at that.

A larger wallet would be nice too.

Thanks for linking that.

I feel that Navi should be made less annoying, the graphics should be updated to, say... Twilight Princess levels (while retaining the OoT style), and that the Master Quest should be added as a game clear bonus.

Aside from that, aside from ease of use for Iron Boots, I would only change one thing in the Water Temple: make it so you can't destroy your chances of clearing it by pushing the wrong block too early. I never realized you could screw yourself with that, but a simple mistake rendering a game unwinnable is just bad design.

Also, Savage Labyrinth/Cave of Ordeals. That stuff is awesome and should be in every Zelda game.

Oh, and it should totally be in 3D guys. Do you think Nintendo thought of that?

1: 11 new layout off dongeons.
2: The story as Sheik, Zelda second persona.
3: Skin redone to match Twilight Princess and Upcoming Skyward Sword.
4: Mute Navi.
5: Better and more creative use of item in puzzle solving. A good example: in the forest temple they could give the player a twisted room (like those 2 corridor that you can twist and untwist in the original) and leave the control(Kinda like valves) of that room to the player so they can hit a Eye-switch. The arrow twist would twist differently according to the room.
6: Kill Navi.
7: Voice acting except for Link and Navi.
8: A "swap item on the go" button to be able to change sub-weapon and tool without pausing the game.
9: Shove Navi up Mr. Twinkle's ass...
10: A new targeting system.
11: Full blown orchestral score by an actual well know orchestra.
12: ...And then blow up Twinkle.
13: Almost photo realistic character skin.

I know it's for the 3DS... but why not make it better instead of a copy / paste game.

Also, you didn't comment about the list in any ways. There still 10 valid point beside the Kill Navi.

Also, More to do once you beat the game..

But other than that, Don't change the main story too much. or the levels...and the music is FANTASTIC.
