When it comes to Blue-Ray players in consoles, it's also expensive to build that in. And the Wii has shown that clever innovation also sells.
Saying that DVD's will be gone one day is very plausible, but I doubt that Blue-Ray players will be the only thing fighting for that spot.
I'd like a XBOX 360 slim or something like that.
Sony has done it three times; there was a PS1 slim, a PS2 slim, and now they have the PS3 slim.
All of Nintendo's consoles, well the last three anyway; the N64, Gamecube, and Wii, have all been relatively light compared to the Play Staions and XBOXs.
So XBOX, why don't you design a slim version of your console? I'm pretty sure it's not as hard as finding the cure for cancer...or creating the tech for 3D gaming with which you need a fucking 5-grand TV to support the damn graphics.

HD DVD disks went off the shelves because Blu-Ray got support from practically Warner Bro's and many other big movie companies, the sale of HD Disks failed to sell above Blu-Ray so toshiba took them off...(i think Toshiba made them =S either that or Panasonic)
anyway not getting into a debate, hate getting into them, i just believe one day (probably when the cost of Blu-Ray players drops) that console companies will use them
Blu-Ray's pretty rapidly becoming standard now. It's more or less a matter of when Microsoft wants to pay Sony to use the technology in their system.
As for the cost of players dropping, you could pick them up for under a hundred bucks USD before Christmas. And thus, many people did.

That they couldn't do it properly yet does not mean it's impossible. I'd rather point at things i want to shoot with some device than use clumsy analog sticks - it all hinges on motion controller being precise enough. Even if current attempts fail miserably, they should figure it out by the next generation.SirBryghtside said:
