What do you want in the new Super Smash Bros that isn't a particular character?

I know that I don't want to see the Smash Ball return.

I'm not a competitive player so I have no in depth idea about the intricacies of the fighting mechanics. Can someone please point out the benefit that this stupid thing is supposed to have?
It's just another fun item to screw around with. Competing for the smash ball and then chasing your friends with super powers adds another layer of fun.

I have no idea why you would have something against this, you know you can turn it off right?
Turn it off at the expense of there super moves, yes I knew I could do that.

I thought that whenever that thing floated in to the arena, it disrupted the flow of the actual fight. I dunno, to me it felt like the objective of what we were doing completely changed into something unrelated.

All I want is a way to have those moves activated without chasing some item around. Maybe some sort of power Bar?
That is actually a brilliant idea. I reckon they should have an option where every time you hit someone it builds up a mana bar or something. What do you think?

That's kinda what I had going through my head too. Maybe with different button presses you could do different super moves.

I'll mention it on the Nintendo forums later, if it hasn't already popped up.

Yeah I like that idea too.

I think the super smash power should be something that is earned and not just who can get the last hit on the ball. Though I also understand that a bit of randomness is needed.

Something Layton-inspired. Maybe a map that works sort of like the Warioware map in brawl, but that asks puzzles.

I really wish they would bringing more characters from other classic games not exclusively owned by nintendo, rather than doing this stupid bullshit of characters like the Wiifit train and guy from animal crossing. Solid Snake and Sonic were some of the best additions to brawl. I really wish they would bring in characters from the "Tale of" series of games. I'd love to play as Kraatos or Lloyd from Tales of Symhonia, Ashe or Luke from Tales of The Abyss, or Yuri or Flynn from Tales of Vesperia. I'm sure there are tons of other great characters out there that could be added.
Three points to make:

1. The Villager was actually supposed to be in Brawl, hence why the Animal Crossing stage and pitfall item were present.

2. The Wii Fit Trainer was apparently put in because she was among the characters that nobody had asked for.

3. Supposedly, third-party characters aren't as plentiful because they are being held to a very high standard.

I hope they break back unique break the target stages for each character, and if they bring back Ganondorf hopefully he'll have a unique moveset that involves a sword. Maybe if they take out Ike, Ganondorf can inherit those moves?

I'd like to see the bonuses from Melee make a return. I always liked challenging myself to see if I could get every bonus within the span of a few fights.

Specific Break the Targets stages for each character would be nice, too. The stages in Melee and 64 challenged the player to master that character's moveset to beat the stage. The difficulty-based stages in Brawl were just boring.

Unused files in Brawl showed that visible battle damage was initially planned, such as Meta Knight's mask and Captain Falcon's helmet cracking, and Link's shield showing scratches and eventually breaking. It'd be pretty interesting if they implemented that in the game, and maybe even make it so characters would take more damage when it happens, like how Mario takes more damage when he loses his hat in the 3D games.

I also want Board the Platforms from 64 to return.

...Well I liked it!

All I want is Isaac, please bring me Isaac and I want Roy to replace Marth, I don't like Marth (but I understand he is more known and much more prevalent in Fire Emblem. I just like Roy more)
